Hello to all of my Liberal friends and fellow comic book fans

I just wanted to let you know you can leave the safe spaces and finally read Superman comics again.

they have removed the horrible “American Way” from the motto “truth justice and the American way” and changed it to “truth justice and a better tomorrow”. Phew! I’m glad they changed that evil saying. I can sleep again now

    https://variety.com/2021/film/news/superman-new-motto-dc-fandome-1235090712/

also I just wanted to mention that In Another comic, Superman’s son comes out as bisexual so that is safe to read as well. (That’s gonna be some serious super powered buttsecks). Woot!!

I’m very happy that Superman is now safe for you guys and please enjoy!

I've never heard a single liberal ever complain about the Superman comics, and I've been an avid comic reader for decades. The only time I ever see cancel culture coming after comics, it comes from the right wing, dating back to the Comics Code Authority. Curious to see that conservatives are such fans of a character who is technically an illegal immigrant. By the way, should read the article you linked to.

So in addition to not reading the article you linked to, you didn't read my post either. Good job.

If you had read it, you'd know the actual reasoning behind "changing" the motto. Which isn't even actually being changed, because it wasn't his motto to begin with in the comics. That motto came from a radio drama in support of McCarthyism, back when the right was going full-throttle in their cancel culture against comics.

And the left’s reputation for hating America continues to grow.

Did you see the motto that included tolerance? This coming from the most intolerant people on the planet.

You can keep fantasizing that anyone was offended by this, but no one was. And the "motor" coming back in a cartoon doesn't change the fact that it didn't come from the comics.

I never cared much for Superman comics because I didn't like is villain gallery and his power set was boring, though I still bought the Justice League comics that featured him. Frankly, my favorite, ever since his run in the Ultimates, is Captain America. I've dressed as him for Halloween (the old man version, really fun to put together), I have his poster behind me in my office. His movies are on loop when I'm working or when my wife is away (she's getting bored of them at this point). My favorite comic storyline of all time is when She-Hulk had to defend him in court.

You are free to open a thread about Superman’s legal status
I believe Clark Kent pays taxes and doesn’t mooch off the system and was an anchor baby which makes him a citizen
Nice try but go take your deflection and spin elsewhere

So-called "anchor babies" are born in the US. Superman was not.

I'm old enough to remember the Superman TV show with George Reeves. That show was certainly not inclusive in that no minorities were in it, and horror of all horrors, Superman was hell bent on stopping crime, something no self respecting progressive would ever support. So why hasn't the left cancelled Superman yet?

I understand the confusion behind this post. Actually, it's more than likely confliction. So paying taxes makes one a citizen? Interesting.

    Stay on topic
As I said this isn’t a thread about the legal status of an imaginary being
Stop soiling this thread with off topic things

So conflicted then? But, an important question, does paying taxes make one a citizen? You did bring up paying taxes in your pervious posting.

Don’t worry. Captain America is black now so it’s ok to use the word “America”
    That is another safe comic
    Phew!

Can you tell us what is the American way?
I once believed it was democracy and the voice of the people, but recently Republicans have been saying we are not a democracy — we are a republic as that is the only way they can justify to themselves what they are doing.
