The NRA has been running so many scare campaigns that they have almost beggared thier base convincing them to buy more and more guns because of fear someone. Somewhere might just might bring in some legislation

Nonsense it is hard to argue for a significant reduction in an event that was so damn rare to begin with that it bordered on a statistical anomaly. Your odds of being killed in a mass shooting in the US are statistically the same as being struck by lightning. In Australia the of You being sht in a mass shooting with a shotgun were before and after the band statistically similar to you ods of being eaten by a bear on a trip the Zoo.

They were only deemed criminal AFTER the fact

 

And exactly similar to mass shooting laws against drunk driving don't prevent people from driving drunk.

Yep, there are criminals so there is no point to having any laws.

 

No law ever prevented crime. The aim is to reduce crime and the consequences of it. Drink driving laws reduce drink driving.

Drink driving laws have reduced the incidents of and the deaths from drink driving.
In the UK and Australia tight gun controls have reduced the deaths from mass shootings. In fact they have virtually eliminated them.

 

Not noticeably. We tried alcohol prohibition in the twenties and thirties to solve the problem of drunkeness and not only did we not reduce the problem of drunkeness we created an even worse problem.
