Bill O'Reilly's Books Are Destroyed by Our Patriotic Soldiers!

Half of my library of books was acquired and read in Iraq.

 

Why do you hate our troops? should all people stop sending food, books, supplies to our troops?

 

The only reason that self-centered egomaniac sends his books to soldiers is to promote himself. Ego Ego Ego: That's all.

I tell you what, as a Soldier deployed into combat, the last thing we need are pin headed, diatribes that take political culture wars into our combat outposts.

Anyone who thinks that this is a service to our Soldiers is sadly mistaken.

We serve BOTH demoncrats and republicans as is our constitutional duty.

I would much rather Americans respect that apolitical choice and stop attempting to take honor into the a political cultural war.

O'Reily has fans and detractors - none of them are in our outposts - please keep the needless distractions away. It isn't politics we miss while we are away.

 

Ok, and if soldiers don't want to read the books they won't read them. but what you have here, if the story is correct is not what your claiming. Burning books? thats just a shame.

Bill O'Reilly raises millions of dollars for the Wounded Warriors Project. Say what you will about the man's politics but he does a great deal for this nation's military.

 

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did burn them. It's really not a big deal if they did. As the soldier said it wasn't political, they just didn't have any room for the books. The OP is blowing this way out of proportion. O'Reilly is a huge supporter of the troops and a lot of the troops like him and his books. This unit just couldn't use them.

Quit acting like you speak for the troops. Some service members appreciate his sending them the books, others don't. You act like it's some huge burden on them to have books sent to them. If they don't want them, they can just dispose of them. End of story.

 

The combat units in the military are predominantly conservative, that's for sure.

If Bill O'Reilly had sent my unit some free books, we wouldn't have thought anything of it. Some people probably would have read the books and others would have just ignored it. Only a nutcase partisan would think like you do.

Besides, if they are in a remote outpost, they might need toilet paper. If the pages are even semi-absorbent, they might serve.

What does that have to do with anything? O'Reilly literally raises millions of dollars in support of programs like Wounder Warriors and Operation Shoebox. He's one of the biggest supporters of the military in the country.

And just so you know....Bill's not am extreme right-winger by any means. He actually is quite moderate. I find myself disagreeing with him quite often. But, I would never question his loyalty to our military soldiers....and niether should you.

Wounded Warrior Project
The Wounded Warrior Project seeks to assist those men and women of our armed forces who have been severely injured during the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other hot spots around the world. Many of the injuries are traumatic amputations, gunshot wounds, burns and blast injuries that will retire these brave warriors from military service.
