And I responded to something that another poster said. If you read the back and forth you should have seen why that fact was mentioned. No one on the thread is complaining about the demographics. Your assumptions and your questions and musings about what would be on the station seem sarcastic. So, watch the stations yourself if you want to know about the content.

 

You misunderstood the conversation (or didn't read the back and forth.) I never said that all. My point was that this is the reason that ethic stations were created and not WET. It seems like something that should be obvious.

Wait. Yes or no? Do you believe in equal opportunity or equal outcome? If the vast majority of doctors are white, should a hospital need to employ an equal number of doctors by race? Or if the vast majority of NBA players are black should the NBA fire X number of players by race to allow for equal representation?

There are more white people represented in most things because there are far more qualified white people. It’s basic math.

The great white fear is that white people will soon be a minority in America. There is a natural reaction to anything that adds to that supposed threat. This is an interesting, no big deal headline for most.

 

So what happened to BET all those years ago?

Will this new channel be for entertainment or for propaganda?

 

I believe Donald Trump plays on this fear. That's why he wants the border wall. That's why he encourages racial division any way he can.

 

BET is doing well. It was sold to Viacom by the black man who created it for 3 billion dollars years ago, obviously making him a billionaire. I believe that he used some of the proceeds to fund other businesses. The last time I checked Viacom wasn't owned by a black person. The programming is good, IMO. BET is not a news channel.
