All the systems did not go bad Robert, only the new system, UNIQUE TO THE MAX, failed. Is that so hard to grasp?

    Huh??

For one thing, the government shutdown didn't effect the safety aspects of the FAA.

Secondly, the government shutdown ended in January. If there are folks still pouting and in a "state of suspended animation" (whatever you even mean by that, you must really like the term since you used it three times in one post, I'm picturing braindead zombies wandering around aimlessly muttering "Trump bad, government shutdown, Trump bad, government shutdown......" ROFL) they need to snap out of it and do their jobs or be fired.

Why do you call Ethiopia the world? Are you claiming the other small countries that followed Ethiopia are the world?

Too many flew successfully for me to believe that. Something happened just to that one airplane.

I am far more likely to read that it was on that airplane and not systematic.

You are certainly free to inject personalities into the analysis of these accidents, but I avoid such shallow-minded analysis.

Because I'm in the aviation business, NOT the airline business, I know very damn well the shutdown greatly influenced how the FAA responded and operated in those day. To be clear, I could not care less about your opinion on what I and others experienced at that time.

That is right Libby. Apparently even Ethiopia has an air safety division to their government. It is their problem.

It was your "shallow-minded analysis" in the first place, ROFL.... As for "how the FAA responded and operated in those day" here is a newsflash ---- "those day" ended in January. Snap out of it and get back to work. You guys and your excuses  the government shutdown gave me the sads and I still haven't recovered enough to do my job properly :blahblah:

Doesn't mean anything ... an error must not happen always as you may know ... but if there is a problem that can happen, it is a problem.

Remember the DC-10 scandal in the 1970's .... there was also only 1 near crash of an American Airline plane and a desaster crash of a Turkish Airline plane with all killed, due to a serious construction error of the rear cargo door hatch. How many DC-10 planes were flying how many flight hours without problem? Many ... but the construction error was at all given and so a problem of the plane!

The airplane did not crash during the shutdown. FAA was working the week of the crash.

Yes of course. The crash happened days ago. The shutdown ended on January 25. Sorry but this time they can't blame Trump.

    It's a private company.
    It's their software.

Good grief. First they blame the FAA over not being open. Turns out that for issues like this, they were always open.

Then they blame Trump. Turns out the Government shutdown was not this past week of March, but ended January 25.

We have had hundreds if not thousands of flights since the shutdown terminated. Normally people want to wait for the computers to tell the tale. This time they try to make it about politics. And Trump did the wrong thing in ordering them grounded. He jumped the gun.

There were two new planes that crashed in 6 months due to similar flight behavior!

    How uninformed are you?

Have the experts examined the computers and blamed software?

I am not aware they know why it crashed yet.

Well hell why waste your time saying that when you could easily have graced us all with your expert testimony on this particular crash.

France was sent the black boxes today. Are you telling us you already understand what is in those two black boxes? Are you working for FAA?

There were 350 of these types flying by January this year.

I am a pilot. And you are what?

At least 350 were flying. Until Trump pulled the boneheaded stunt of grounding our fleet.

We should be reading facts and not trying to assign blame at this point. Normally we first learn what is in the Black boxes and not what is in the heads of politicians.

The same model of plane crashed in October and it has been determined that the flight characteristics of both planes were similar hence for the grounding of the whole fleet

For a start, 737 Max-8 have not been "flying for many years"! Other than that read the many threads that have been created to see how much you don't know before continually attacking "lefties" and Dems in all your posts
