Ivermectin isn't approved for humans so the only way to get it in the US is in the products made for animals. And, it doesn't look like they will do anything with it anyway.

From what I have seen doctors overseas are studying it as well as a few here in the states(but they are demonized as quacks, and while some are, some aren’t). Proven treatments for many different ailments came from overseas, so I would be cautious at this time in saying it won’t help. At the end of all this, it’s possible it could be used here in the states, prescribed by doctors for helping people with COVID.

People trying to take horse-dewormer because it’s easy to get is dumb. The doses are different and it’s not intended for human consumption. I wouldn’t try this particular drug unless a doctor prescribed it to me.

There is also the issue of off label use. We have found many drugs that work for other things outside of what they were either originally designed for or prescribed for(for instance viagra was being developed as a blood pressure drug). I have my own personal anecdote on that type of thing but it’s just an anecdote. I am currently taking medicine for a sleep issue that is typically prescribed at much higher doses for a different ailment all together. In my case, the small dose keeps my body from being overly active while I sleep(kicking mostly). For my medicine, I take .5 mg per day. For its regular use, they prescribe 4-5 mg per day. It works. Very well.

It’s possible ivermectin could potentially help with COVID, and while it’s not known yet if it will for sure, it’s demonization as a drug is not necessary. Because the FDA hasn’t approved it for one use, doesn’t mean it isn’t safe or that it couldn’t help with something else. People taking horse dewormer is stupid though. Always consult with a doctor before taking any medication. That’s the one thing I do listen to when those stupid drug commercials come on lol.
