This is exactly why I have an issue with the AMA. Doctors are trained in such a way that anything outside their scope is considered "bad" or "wrong" or "snake oil", etc. That's not necessarily true. Long before doctors (as we know them now) came along, people used all kinds of natural and homeopathic medications mainly because there were no other options. Then, the AMA comes along and demonizes all of it. I understand wanting to keep people safe from potential harm but that shouldn't exclude dismissing things out of hand.

This is akin to the issue with campaigning during last year's election. Trump constantly talked about how horrible Biden is but he didn't talk about how wonderful he is either. The AMA strong-arming on this issue is exactly like that - "All <that> is bad, but all of <this> is good. Pharmaceuticals have all kinds of nasty side-effects and instead of making drugs that don't, they just pile on more medications one has to take.

I understand your position. However, I don't believe it's dumb for others to take it simply because of the above. We hear about all these cases, hospitalizations and death. People are terrified. None of us alive today ever lived through a pandemic and it's quite overwhelming.

This is the exact reason that I'm pro-choice. Criminalizing abortion isn't going to stop a woman from having an abortion. She will just find alternate ways to end her pregnancy possibly killing herself in that quest. Same here, sending out notices for people to not take Ivermectin isn't going to stop anybody from using it. They will just find other ways to obtain it.

Correct. I have a really weird system. Medications almost NEVER do what they're supposed to in my body. For example, due to a surgery complication, I get sick every time I eat. I had a feeding tube at one point because I wasn't holding enough down. That was a nightmare by itself, but I digress. The medication they prescribe for severe nausea has a known side-effect of drowsiness. It has NEVER made me drowsy. I can drink as many beers as I want and I never get drunk. I mean NEVER. So, it's frustrating for me when I have to explain this to a doctor because they automatically assume a patient is lying, wrong, ignorant, misinformed (who is more informed about MY body than me?) or insane. Everything that doesn't fit nicely into their flow chart is deemed "unreal" and that's a huge disservice for people who don't feel well but can't get doctors to help. They aren't going to just stop searching for answers. They will just search for them OUTSIDE the AMA hierarchy.

I have some medical experience so my friends and neighbors are always asking me for help. I stopped counting the ridiculous questions years ago. lol I don't mind answering questions or educating people but I have a very, very low tolerance for ignorance. Stupid I don't mind. Stupid can be fixed. Ignorance - the NOT knowing something and not doing anything to remedy that (and it's always this group that screams the loudest)? No.

And, I've stopped being shocked by people that have NO idea how their body works. How is that even possible? You're in your own body 24/7. How can you NOT know? It's beyond ridiculous. I know people that spend more time contemplating what to have for dinner or what color car they should get that completely gloss over their medication info sheets. If I had an inkling to just kill a bunch of people it would be easy-peasy. All I'd have to do is hand them some pills and lie about what they are for. Why is it that easy!? Why are people taking things with no idea what it's for? Why are people raiding the livestock stores for Ivermectin? Why are people ingesting disinfectants because the former President mentioned it? He's not a doctor or disease specialist. He's not an authority on anything.

And, the scariest part is these geniuses are going to be the people taking care of us in nursing homes some day. Yikes!

And the ones most people are wearing aren't even that effective. A study just came out that showed those blue ones everyone wears are at 10%.

Also, all these 'effective rates' are assuming they're worn properly. Given how most people wear them and how often they touch/adjust them, it's most likely virtually 0%.

The left has shown throughout all this that disagreeing with them absolutely enrages them. The lefts ego is out of control.
