https://au.news.yahoo.com/world/a/37153180/british-kayak-adventurer-slain-in-brazils-amazon/ Here's a photo : There are other sources on this story that go into more detail about her social media posts. She was warned by several people that the area that she was venturing into was known for piracy and drug trafficking. She was told by several hiking guides that she was in contact with that there were people there with no regard for human life, and that there had been many cases of people being robbed and killed. She made posts indicating that dozens of men with guns and other weapons were approaching her, including after dark when she was alone in her tent. No mention of a husband or children, and I suspect that is because she doesn't have any. The overall picture of this woman suggests liberalism may have been involved in her chosen career, life choices, travel destinations, and activities. Since the advent of feminism, many women in the West have forgone having children and raising families for "adventures" like these, which usually involve far-off "exotic" destinations, and "exotic" peoples. Read my signature for an explanation of the kind of mindset at work in this woman (I suspect). The truth is, there are many areas of the world where a white woman walking alone through the wilderness is an extremely dangerous situation to be in. Even the people who lived in those areas are not safe, and they won't stand out to the bad guys nearly as much as this woman would have. She knew this. She was warned about it. Still, she went. This story fits right in with Pippa Bacca, the feminist Italian activist who wanted to hitch-hike across the Middle East to promote interracial love and marriage between all the peoples of the world. They found her raped naked body somewhere in Turkey, I believe. It's also similar to the hikers who were taken prisoner when they accidentally crossed into Iran. Maybe the white Western world is "boring" to some people, and they need to seek out these new, exciting, dangerous and "exotic" places to recreate. They should try and be aware of the potential dangers.
What people don't realize, a lot of these wild jungle countries can be dangerous places to visit. There's been several tourists over the years who've been robbed, killed or raped, even cannibalized. You go out into the jungle in some distant part of the world, not all the natives there are entirely civilized. I mean, it's not like going to Singapore. Many of these places were only brought in contact with the modern world 70 years ago. It takes several hundred years for the gene pool in a population to adapt to civilization.
While I think the OP is likely correct about the victim's political ideology - I find that ideology detaches its victim from consequences and dangers (they literally imagine themselves sanctuary) - I think we need to determine for sure that ideology before attempting to politicize this crime. It does no good for those looking to skewer liberalism as the mental illness that it is without having rock solid facts employed to do so.
No you can criticize it to feel better about your decision to live a different life. There is nothing to be learned from it by critics. The only lessons can be learned by people who support that lifestyle.
If an unmarried and childless teacher from Britain, who quit her job to become a "full-time explorer" - is a right-winger, I would be extremely shocked.
Men are instinctively adventurous because it increases their chances of reproducing Women are instinctively timid because being adventurous lowers their chances of reproducing. Stories like this illustrate that Charles Lindberg was an adventurous pilot and had several children by both his wife and his mistress Emilia Earhart was an adventurous pilot and died before she could have children Emilia Earhart's sister was not adventurous and had children Just food for thought
A large motivation behind the promotion of feminism is to decrease white Western birth rates. By convincing women to not have children, they are free to have fun adventures like kayaking down the Amazon. Of course, she was all alone in a dangerous part of the world. How empty and lonely she must have felt. Her constant "look at how much fun I'm having!" social media posts to complete strangers on the internet suggests a real longing for closeness to other people. This kind of life looks exciting, but it's ultimately empty and pointless. Two shotgun blasts before being thrown into the river like a piece of trash. Sad.
Western people, and especially women, think this "security bubble" follows them around wherever they go in the world. It doesn't. Truly sad story and opportunity to learn a valuable truth.
I think they believe that their advocacy for minorities in their own countries is something that people can see, no matter where they go in the world. As if they can simply explain that they voted for Obama, or the Labour Party, or that they support open borders, and that would be enough to keep a gang of "exotics" from killing them for the electronic gadget they have in their hand. It's radical egalitarianism "we are the world" thinking, and it has gotten many people killed.
On the other hand, we have seen that tourists in America are at risk of being killed by the police. No lives matter to them :/
I suspect you'll plant your fat bum back on the couch and channel surf. That's all some people need in this life. Can you imagine actually owning a passport?
Sooo the cable companies no longer offer hundreds of channels. Who would have thought that would happen...Meanwhile paranoid conservatives with no life and will never own a passport can cluck and politicize and sermonize over these items in the news. They are everything that is wrong with America these days...
They do but people don't watch them anymore. Have you ever actually sat and watched tv these days? It sucks. Plenty of good content out there but only an old person or a dummy would watch cable tv to get it
Like I've owned a TV in the past 25 years....We watch quality movies and travel when we can. Watching cowardly conservatives who have never left the States sermonize is disgusting. They pretty much hate the rest of the world that they have never seen...
A woman kayaking alone the the Amazon river after being repeatedly warned of dangers by locals familiar with the area is fundamentally an idiot. That is the lesson to be learned: Don't be an idiot.
By your messages you have fine tuned hatred as a core perspective. It is humorous reading white liberals claim they are enlightened by traveling to foreign tourist traps, which have the highest police presence and are visited by generally middle income people. As for that young woman, there is a difference between being brave and being an idiot.
Yes, she obviously was out there on the edge. But conservative attitudes are aren't that much different with the Taliban, in controlling women. Very patriarchal...it's a religion with them. "Why hail why couldn't that gal have stayed barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen? I seen was happenin' in the news....jes wait until ol Rush gets ahold of this! Beulah, bring me 'nother Bud Lite and tell the kids to shut the hell up, I'm a watchin' Faux News..."
Poor naive idiot. She should have trained a few months in Detroit or Chicago before embarking on such an adventure alone.
