No....conservatives appointed Bundy...over the past two weeks.

Now you want to pretend you never heard of the guy. :D

BTW, you've lost Greta....Fox hosts will now pretend they never supported the guy either. :)

Which isn't relevant to what I wrote.

That's because you live deep in the conservative bubble.
    http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/01/09/obama.reid/

In a statement to CNN, Reid said, "I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words."

"I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African Americans for my improper comments.

And here's why Reid gets a pass:

I was a proud and enthusiastic supporter of Barack Obama during the campaign and have worked as hard as I can to advance President Obama's legislative agenda," the senator from Nevada said.

Reid pointed to his efforts to integrate the Las Vegas Strip and the gaming industry, among other legislation favored by African-American voters.

"I have worked hard to advance issues important to the African American community."

See? Actions speak louder than words.

    Similarly, Biden:
    http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/01/31/biden.obama/

Biden issued a statement Wednesday afternoon, saying: "I deeply regret any offense my remark in the New York Observer might have caused anyone. That was not my intent and I expressed that to Sen. Obama."

Does it bother you that you make assumptions about Democrats without being aware of the facts about them?

Agreed, but that was then (and let's note that it passed with a majority of Democrats, too).

Today Republicans are doing things like trying to restrict early voting -- a nakedly partisan effort to reduce voting by the poor and minorities. They're against immigration reform, which plays poorly among Hispanics. Their voter base is increasingly old and white. They have done everything they can to sabotage Obamacare, a stance that again hurts the poor and minorities more than anyone else. Heck, declining the Medicare expansion is just plain mean-spirited, preventing millions of people from getting health insurance for no other reason than to spite Obama.

And their embrace of kooky fringe crap -- Birtherism, Tenthers, Federal Reserve conspiracy theories -- has increasingly chased smart, reasonable people away. Which is why Republicans have put up so many nutjob candidates in recent years.

When you couple all of that with repeated statements that denigrate minorities, women, Jews.... it all starts to look like a unified package.

So many Dems? Gorn Captain's the only one I'm aware of, and he's only half-serious.

Hmmm, so Bundy observes a project and wonders if blacks are better off under the government care or back when they were slaves. Considering what the likes of al sharpton, jesse jackson and dems in general have done to them, it seems a worthy question.

Nice spin. No, it means that if by your actions you show you aren't racist, then racist-seeming words aren't seen as evidence of some deep-seated belief.

If I work to give women the right to vote and otherwise champion women's issues, then I can probably make an ill-considered joke about women and not be torn apart. I'll need to apologize, of course, but my actions will show that my heart is in the right place.

If on the other hand I'm constantly working against issues that are important to women, then if I make a joke about women it will match my actions and I'll be pilloried for it.

It works in reverse, too. If I constantly work to promote white supremacist issues and then say something positive about non-whites, I may be forced to apologize to my white-supremacist brethren, but my actions will have shown that my heart was in the right place.

If, on the other hand, I'm constantly working to promote racial equality and then say something positive about non-whites, it will match my actions and those white supremacists will pillory me for it.

Want to be able to tell a sexist joke? If you have to; but if you don't want to be blasted for it, perhaps you should have some sort of record of supporting women's rights.

He said it's a worthy question, and when you read headlines like this you can see that life has gotten worse in some respects:

Feds Step In After 45 People Shot in Chicago Over Easter Weekend
    http://time.com/71446/chicago-gun-violence-easter-weekend-45-people-shot/

Granted, I'm not an expert on the subject, but I haven't read anything describing this level of violence within the black community during the slavery and Jim Crow eras.

What went wrong since the 1960s?

So, you're saying the "average" black person today is a project dweller living on government assistance?

We need to clear up assumptions here, or at least determine who's reading comprehension is poor.

All but THE most overt and obvious Rightwing Media (websites mostly) and NO Republican politicians...

    will keep supporting Bundy.

Fox, Drudge, most Talk Radio, Washington Times, etc. will all "spike" anymore stories about him and pretend he never existed and hope they can fool people into thinking "We never supported that guy? Where do you get a crazy idea like that?"

its pretty racist to say that your average black American is poor, living in filthy public housing, while on welfare.

So, since Bundy spoke specifically of some blacks living in projects (what he observed), how then does that translate into "average"? I never said "average"...you did.

Bundy appears to be generalizing all black people, as being welfare-loving ghetto thugs:

As Nagourney describes it, Bundy is enjoying his newfound fame by sharing his views on a number of policy issues, including race, welfare and whether the "Negro" hasn't been hurt by emancipation. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton," Bundy said. "And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

He also seems to be saying that blacks got screwed over, which hardly seems to be racist....

Good grief! It's difficult to comprehend the mindset of this belief. Voting for civil rights gives one the right to be able to demean blacks and get away with it for the rest of one's life? Yeah.....get yourself on record as having been in some way supportive of blacks..... and then go right on with racist ways. That makes sense ONLY in a Democrat mind, I guess.

There's no denying that Democrats want to keep the black community down. Otherwise, they wouldn't have adopted their parental attitude long ago....that says to the community, 'you are too stupid to take care of yourself so just vote for us and we'll keep sending you welfare and subsidies in return. We expect nothing else from you. You can stay where you are and have been for decades now under our policies....just keep voting us in power." There is NOTHING more racist than that mindset of the Democrat. And I think more and more blacks are seeing the light.

Democrats have ruled Chicago for years. Why haven't they established a thriving "progressive" utopia in that city instead of the ultraviolent (*)(*)(*)(*)hole where 45 people get shot over the course of one weekend?

Could it be that their Big Labor sugar daddies can't compete with overseas labor?
Could it be the trade deals like NAFTA that Democratic presidents signed into law?
Could it be that Democrats haven't done jack to address the trade imbalances with countries such as China?

Or could it be on account of the Democrats' ill-conceived social policies that created the environment where this level of violence could flourish?

Don't you just love their mindset? As long as you support the Progressive agenda you can spew hatred and racism and it will be tolerated. Who are the REAL racists again? They have the initials PROGRESSIVES!
