Your comment makes me want to reread Gary Allen's None Dare Call it Conspiracy which I read sometime in the 70s. He was the first person I ever remember talking about this stuff.

Is there any benefit to an immigrant coming in the legal way or even gaining citizenship?

For sure! They have a Public Union which should not be legal in the first place. The union negotiates with the Democratic Party on how much of the tax payer money they can get. In return the Democrats get HUGE donations from the state employees. It's a scam.

My sister retires at the end of this month with a year's vacation on the books. Incredible.

If high taxes equaled higher quality of life for everyone, I would be a Democrat.

California is the poverty capitol of the US. The gap between the rich and poor is huge and there are very few middle class left. Our taxes are among the highest while our schools rank among the lowest. Our roads are crumbling in spite of paying more per mile than the rest of the country. In spite of passing measures to help the homeless, the problem is no better. Gangs strengthen their numbers through illegal immigration and law abiding citizens are denied their second amendment rights. (LA)

Used to mean citizenship rights. Now they just toss that **** out like candy. Illegals can just walk into ERs, receive free care than walk out. Since I have ID, I get to pay my deductible;)
I’m paying for them to get free care. They can use our schools without knowing what disease they’re carrying. We have to cater to their lack of English. Taxes pay for that too. What a wonderful fair system we’ve got going.

I agree some states have more taxes then others, and some people are relocating because of the taxes, but eventually all states will have this problem, it may take numerous years, but real estate in the USA has nowhere to go but up.

Actually most conservatives don't give a hoot about abortions. Lefties love them. The more leftie babies aborted the fewer leftie voters down the line.

    Yes.

    https://www.sandiegouniontribune.co...lifornia-poverty-rate-20180913-htmlstory.html

"It has the highest rate of poverty of any state in the country, according to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau. As a whole, the U.S. saw its national poverty rate decrease slightly 0.4 percentage points. But the Golden State has its own unique poverty story to tell."

"By the supplemental poverty measure, California’s estimated poverty rate is 19 percent. While it is a 1.4 percent decrease from the previous year, the rate remains the highest among states. It accounts for about 7.5 million Californians."

"The next closest is Florida with 18.1 percent. Louisiana follows at 17.7 percent. After that, these states follow: Mississippi (15.9 percent), Arizona (15.6 percent), Georgia (15.6 percent), New York (15.5 percent), New Mexico (15.2 percent), New Jersey (15.1 percent) and Hawaii (15.0 percent)."

    https://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-jackson-california-poverty-20180114-story.html

"Guess which state has the highest poverty rate in the country? Not Mississippi, New Mexico, or West Virginia, but California, where nearly one out of five residents is poor. That’s according to the Census Bureau’s Supplemental Poverty Measure, which factors in the cost of housing, food, utilities and clothing, and which includes noncash government assistance as a form of income."

Maybe if you taught your kids to be productive workers, this country wouldn't need illegal aliens.

You mean the illegal foreign nationals that do the jobs Americans won't do for slave wages?

Why are democrats so into exploiting these people?

You sound like you resent Americans

There are two poverty rates. California does OK on one (the official rate) and terrible on the "supplemental rate"

"If you look at the official poverty measure in California, we’re about average with the rest of the country," Mayes said. "But if you use the supplemental poverty measure, we are in the lead. We have the highest poverty rate in the nation -- higher than New Mexico, higher than any of the southern states, Louisiana, Alabama, higher than Idaho."

They have American homeless living everywhere in disgusting tent cities, yet they strive to help illegal foreigners. I'm ready to jettison the state into the Pacific Ocean and let them just drift away.
