Illegal immigration is big money to agriculture/ construction/ slaughterhouses.... low and unskilled labor in general. If illegal immigration is to be stopped in the U.S .. the people who create the market for them must be penalized as much as the aliens who enter this country illegally. Sadly, the corporations who own the government are the ones who decide on how existing immigration laws are enforced, that's what we can expect when we allow capitalism to be mixed into our government... Legislation to the highest bidder..

You do realize that if you were being intellectually honest about the event, you would also mention that Reagan did it to compromise with the Democrats, which he later spoke about greatly regretting because the Democrats refused to compromise back politically. It is one of the many reasons and events that caused "compromise" to become a very bad word amongst true conservatives.

Democrats always wine and cry about compromise, but was we can see in instances like immigration, Obamacare, etc.... they never compromise back in any significant way.

Jerry Brown is making some huge cuts, and is really endearing himself to me a a sensible fiscal conservative. All that time he spent in Oakland, plus getting older, realy changed him that way.

 

You're just jealous...because in California, you can ski and surf in the same day. We have huge deserts, beautiful alpine mountains, Yosemite valley, the west coast, the wine country, hollywood..etc.

What are you talking about? His first budget was rejected by the controller as not even close to fiscally responsible.
