Sure. Do you have the capability of reading comprehension?

"A body of atheists?".... yep... a congregation of people... such as that group of Atheists and other non-theists who have gathered together on this forum for the purpose of promoting/preaching their doctrine of 'non belief in the existence of God or any deity'.

    "Seriously?" Yep... seriously!

    No one cares Incorporeal.

Read the OP for once and stay on topic for once.

Are you promoting the use and execution of a 'hate crime'?

Yes, I was. I tend to get offended when people defend raping boys.

It's my opinion that child abuse, sexual or otherwise, is wrong. Doesn't matter what religion the perpetrator is.

It's also my opinion that you're off-topic. Kindly address the issue of why the Church in question is defending the abuser in question, instead of trying to turn this into a religion vs. atheism thread.

That fact wasn't in dispute. You are attempting to create a controversy where none exists in order to derail the thread.

    Address the topic.

At the emphasized text: The OP is set up as a means of attacking the activities of a Church. In like turn, I attack the activities of a "church"... the church I attack is the body of people known as 'atheists'.... who by record of the various states have committed the same manner of crime(s) that have been presented in the OP. So the question is being addressed. Why does the OP make an issue with one particular church and not include the activities of other churches?

I don't see anyone here defending atheist abusers. I saw someone questioning your source, which seems to be unrelated to the topic at hand, and which - by your own admission - was posted to make a statement about child abuse being perpetrated by atheists - which this thread is not about. It's about a long pattern of abuse in the Roman Catholic Church, and that Church's response to it.

You are attempting to deflect by arguing "tu quoque".

    Address the topic.

Where have I presented a 'defense' for such actions? Point out the exact posting where you perceive that I have issued a defense for such activity; If you cannot provide such an example of a defense that I have issued, then you likewise owe me a public apology for your attempt at defaming my character. Otherwise, I will have to consider your inference above as a personal attack.

It's not an attack on any activity by just any church, but questions a pattern of behavior within one particular religion.

Then you freely admit you are here to troll the thread.

No, it's not. The question is being attacked - which you've just admitted to. That isn't the same thing as addressing the questions posed.

Not 'activities', abuse. Interesting that you would frame child sexual abuse within the Catholic church as an 'activity'.

The reason is because we're talking about a specific case of abuse in a specific church - one that has a pattern of abuse problems frankly not seen (or at least not widely publicized) in other churches.

Address the topic and stop with the off-topic attacks that attempt to derail the thread.

    "They do it to!"
That's a defense. It's weird how you can't claim that the church is wrong here. You must love people who rape children. That is, if they worship the same gawwwd that you do.

    Take the blinders off.

Nope. Nor do I defend people who rape children. You see, when you defend those sorts of people and refuse to see anything wrong with them just because they're the same religion as you, don't be shocked when people start grouping you with them.

I judge people by the company they keep.

Not just a particular religion, but also a particular church.

Showing a similarity between one group of people and that of another group of people is not an act of trolling.

Wrong again. Is that not what these discussion are about? Questioning the reasons and rationales of claims or inquiries made by others? If I cannot question the legitimacy and relevancy of a question, then you likewise cannot question the legitimacy or relevancy of any question that I pose or that anyone else poses.

Is 'child sexual abuse' NOT an 'activity'? If it is NOT an activity, then it cannot have occurred.

Such as the church (body of people) known as Atheists and other non-theists?

    The topic is being discussed.

One problem with your quoted statement: it does not show the thread number or a link to that alleged quote and therefore, your quote is not acceptable as you might have taken that statement out of context. Try again.

One problem here, I don't care.
Everyone reading the thread knows what you're saying. I don't have civil discussions with people who defend child rapists.

It's so sad that you feel the need to defend rapists because of your religion :(

Talking about scandal is one thing.

Talking about Christian beliefs (Confession, Mariology, etc) has been around much longer then Luther's (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) ass.

And you have failed to show where I have laid a defense for 'child rapists', therefore, you are launching a personal attack against my character. You are being reported for launching a personal attack.

    Report away.
I know what you've said, and you know what you said. Now I'm wondering why you're defending child rapists if you think it's an attack to point out that you're defending child rapists. If you think there's something wrong with it, simply stop doing it.
Perhaps you're on the right path.

    I don't see a point here.

It is when it's done specifically as an attack - your own characterization of it - to avoid addressing the topic.

You didn't question the specific points raised. You went on an anti-atheist attack when atheism has nothing to do with the topic.

If you were actually doing that, I wouldn't characterizing your actions as trolling.

Don't start with the word games again.

If you want to discuss an alleged pattern of abuse within atheism, then make you're own thread. It's not the topic of this one, despite your attempts to make it so.

No it isn't, and if you persist I will ignore you permanently to save myself the hassle, suggesting that others follow suit.

    From Mekkede's article

That is how it starts out. So much for an unbiased article.

Id also like to ask, when is a sexual abuse case put into the paper and an institution is demonized so much, while other institutions are given a blind eye?

    http://web.archive.org/web/20080530031905/http://ncregister.com/site/article/7391

So, teachers are cool, but Priest and other religious are even alleged to have abused a child, its on every front page of a newspaper in the country.

Or how about when a Priest is alleged to have supposedly abused a child a couple decades ago. Everyone is fired up. Even though there us much bigger problem in the schools.
