I don't know any Christian church that gives out the New Testament minus the Old Testament. The Lectionary provides specific readings [Old Testament, Epistle and Holy Gospel] in condensed form. These Church year readings are used by all Christians except some Protestant groups and are printed out in the Sunday bulletin at each Eucharist.

There was a history in Arabia before Islam but the muslims wiped it all away and destroyed all traces of history.
Just like they dynamited that giant Buddha statue carved into the side of a cliff in Afghanistan that was designated a World Heritage site.

There's more history left from the Aztecs after the invasion of Cortez than there is in Arabia before Muhamad.

Lots of them do, hell they give them away on street corners.
    But that's not relevant.
The bible contains both the jewish old testament,
    and the Christian new testament.

The old is for the most part a history book of times past.
The rules changed with the coming of Christ.

The story of Christ is just too unbelievable unless it is the inspired Word of God. I could never have been an atheist once I learned of Jesus' love.

And what else does it say?

"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, [even if they are] of the People of the Book [Jews & Christians], until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued"

    Koran 9:29
The Jizya was an oppressive tax levied against Jews and Christians.
We even saw the revival of the Jizya a few years ago under the Islamic State in Northern Iraq.

God's covenant with His people [Jews] is followed by the fulfillment of the Messiah [Christians]. That is why Christians view Jews as follow children of God.

Christians aren't the only ones who are Pro-Life. There have been atheist groups represented in those marches as well. (It's just they're usually not as organized)

Anyway, correct me if I'm wrong but all the doctors who have ever been attacked were doing very late-term procedures, and they weren't for "women's health" or fetal defects.

I don't know, but under no circumstances is such vigilantism justified.

Those abortions aren't justified either, and are just as morally wrong.

I think that skepticism and rationality are superior to Christianity. I also believe that Buddhism is superior to Christianity as well. Any religion that promoted dogmatic faith is dangerous because this kind of thinking often leads to fanatics holding backwards harmful beliefs.

You evidently don't know that verse is referring to defensive war or that jizya is only paid by able bodied men in lieu of military service.

    What defensive war.
Muhammed was the aggressor every time.
And that verse applies to non-muslims living on Muslim land.
Specifically Christians and jews, but everyone.

Given that there is no actual proof of the Gospel the "assurance" you reference is based on the same reality as most religions, i.e., blind faith, wishful thinking and brainwashing (particularly brainwashing of children). What astounds me is most followers don't know anything about who wrote the Gospels or when they were written. It is a fact that no original copies of the Gospel exist so who knows how many changes have been made over the years to accounts based on oral transmission of stories over a period of decades. The smugness of and lack of scholarship of many Christians is annoying.

No you were given the facts, proved wrong and now you deflect with verses from the Quran, you are fooling no-one, you knowledge has been exposed rather well.
The Bible is the sacred text of Christianity both New and Old Testament, there are more violent passages in the Bible than the Quran and your knowledge of both is severely limited. LOL and WTF are not debating skills so why not learn that?

Where as the Jews were simply expelled from Spain by the Christians and then the Christians created the Inquisition with the torture and executions that involved. The expulsion of the Jews was not repealed until 1968, got that 1968!

Rubbish the Albigensian Crusade was conducted against the Cathars because they did not follow the murderous Catholic Doctrine, they destroyed an entire culture and religion. There was no legitimacy other than the Catholic scum at the time said the Cathars were heretics, talk about putting a spin on it. I have never before heard any Christian Apologist try to excuse their barbaric behaviour, shame.

I'm going to have to disagree with you, and this topic is a bit too complicated to delve into here.
Far too many Catholics who don't know any better simply just apologize for it.
There were some legitimate reasons to suppress their movement (it wasn't simply just a religious movement) and the situation was a little more complex than you make it out to be.

The Spanish probably learned that barbarity from their muslim overlords.
I'm not going to condone what they did, but considering the recent history that had taken place in the country their actions were almost understandable.
In their zeal against the muslims, the Jews got caught up in it though. Perhaps part of the resentment against them was a feeling that many of the Jews had collaborated with the muslims.

Remember, the Spanish Inquisition happened only about 38 years after Spain had broken free from muslim rule, and they were still fighting them off.

Suppress their movement they destroyed the religion to a man! I suggest you read The Albigensian Crusade by Jonathan Sumption which is a real history book on the murderous actions of the Catholic Church. I would be interested to see one historian who trys to spin it as you have.

The reasons are quite simple, they were considered heretics and the Catholic Church would not allow any heretics to live, in one of the decrees their is a suggestion of Usury but the other is entirely religious. And again that decree was not removed until 1968, for goodness sake that is within our lifetime!

The Spanish Inquisition was mostly instigated by Spanish bishops, who persuaded the king to give them authority to implement it. The pope in Rome condoned what was going on but didn't actively support it.

Yes I agree with your interpretation on that, in Spain the Catholic Church was allowed to become incredibly powerful and indeed it still is. Only since the death of Franco has its power started to be eroded.

Some things to keep in mind, a lot of these atrocities that were committed were reactionary to other external threats that were going on. Spain has quite a turbulent history.
It's not like everything was just peaceful and then suddenly the Catholics and Franco came along and decided to oppress people.

Maybe progressives don't want to see that because Spain's problems were muslims and communists.

Certainly and of course the same can be said about some Muslim atrocities, we can see exactly how religion is used by murderous groups in troubled and turbulent times in the middle east.

I disagree. Some of those atrocities were done just for religion and almost no other reason.
