Climate change is a natural phenomena, it has happened several times in our geological record. Why do you believe it may require something as inconsistent, as "magic"?

I believe we can, and are, evolving and effecting that form of adaptation; Stargate Atlantis comes to mind.

 

A statement that would apply to Lucy as well it would the Egyptians and Romans and really, humans and ecosystems going into, and coming out of, the LIA.

A common stunt as well, claim a projection (regardless of quality) and then fight that as a strawmen to demand whatever, forced changes in human behavior, new taxes, whatever.

Parrot what others say. Just because he has no formal training doen't mean he doesn't understand the field.

Such criticisms are in poor form to shut out a voice over.

Address what the person says, if you can follow the science.

 

Again, you frame that incorrectly.

Read the definition of the metric, GWP, that you are using.

Adding the same amount of a small mass of CO2 and CH4, CH4 increases warming more. That's only because it is on the steeper part of the log function of forcing.

CO2 is the stronger greenhouse gas of the two. We would have to have far more CH4 in the atmosphere than CO2 before it would ever trap more heat than CO2 does.

 

You seem to be missing the point about the effects of climate change. Learning how to cope better is what I am referring to.

 

The only thing that makes sense is coping since climate will change no matter what we do.

 

And how do you intend to help the environment cope?..apparently you believe we can magically separate humanity from environmental collapse...you live a magical world, the climate changes magically for no reason you can explain ...and the environment will magically carry on with no ill effects while we adapt with technology...

 

I don't think anyone is disagree the climate changes. The disagreement is the percentage of change attributed to mankind.

Just because you believe we are causing most the climate change doesn't make it true. I know the consensus is wrong in how much the attribute to CO2, and how little the attribute to the solar changes and soot. Not only is CO2 extremely small compared to H2O, but it also cools the upper atmosphere as it increases there, where it isn't in competition with H2O for photons.

Now I disagree with this assessment, but I have seen a few studies that claim CO2 cools the atmosphere over all. I agree it warms, but far less than the consensus claims.

Soot is an aerosol, and aerosols are the largest man made factor we can control.

 

Advancing fusion energy can help. Imagine solvling the dilemma of potable water anywhere it may be needed. Providing water for drought stricken regions can help slow rising sea levels.

It may require science fiction to allow for submerged cities.

Fusion is just a fantasy at this time it could be decades off if ever...in the mean time denial that co2 is the cause of this particular warming event only further delays emission reduction...drought relief off setting sea level rise is silly, the volume of water added to the oceans dwarf any amount we can use ...and who is paying for the drought relief to those poverty stricken countries, are you volunteering US funds to green the worlds deserts?...submerged cities is just what they'll be, there is no science fiction scenario that will save miami

You cannot look at independent gases alone you must look at their effect in our Atmoshere along with every increasing amounts of Water Vapor.
