A ban on legal abortions (which, at least, expresses society's collective outrage) does not make women's bodies the "property of the state." Rather, it recognizes the fact that the unborn child--whether "viable" or not--is emphatically not a part of the mother's body. (Attached to it, yes; but, just as a barnacle is often attached to a ship, that barnacle is not a part of that ship.)

Moreover, if they "do not want" these babies--entirely separate human beings (with different DNA structures)--they can always give them up for adoption.

I guess you missed the March for Life this year--and every year since Roe--as it featured many women...

Well, you keep moving the goalposts back and forth between the 99% of abortions performed before week 20 and the 1% performed after.... the 1% performed after were covered in Doe v. Boland, which held that the woman's health was a higher concern than viability.

That these nuns would wave their big wooden rulers at us and tell us being gay was bad, but man, we all knew every last one of them was a lesbian. (When it became kind of hip to be a lesbian, women stopped signing up to be nuns and the world was better off for it.) We all knew the priests were as queer as square donuts, and you didn't want to be left alone in a room with one of them, but man, they all acted like these guys knew about "morality" because they could cite quotes from the Big Book of Bronze Age Fairy Tales.

Not at all. the thing is, Science is still out on that issue, not that it matters. Almost all of these diseases that prompt late abortions are far worse.

Unfortunately, you wingnuts define 'something better' as 'let the market kill off the poor'. Something better would be single payer. We got ACA because you guys fought "Something better" for years, up until and including HillaryCare, which seems like a pretty good idea right about now. The biggest problem with the ACA is that it was based on the Heritage Foundation/RomneyCare model that we can really trust the insurance companies not to screw you after they have your money.

It's very hard to rationalize with people who keep doing the same stupid things after they've been proven not to work.

 

What an out-of-character mistake for CNN to make! I'll bet the goons responsible for this gaffe had to get down on their knees and chant, "Hail, Satan!" about thirty times to keep their jobs after creating an embarrassment like that!

It's never been about women and really never has, Women's rights are HUMAN rights and that's largely what liberalism is about, but conservatives are more concerned about corporate rights than anything concerning mere humans, and so want to obfuscate the issue

 

And with that, I can be certain that you have no intention of conducting a civil debate; but instead, just berating those with whom you disagree.

And I truly have no desire to be a part of that.
