CNN deletes, retracts story linking Trump and Russia

    On Thursday evening, CNN investigative reporter Thomas Frank published a potentially explosive report involving an investigation of a Russian investment fund with potential ties to several associates of President Donald Trump.

    But by Friday night, the story was removed from CNN’s website and all links were scrubbed from the network’s social media accounts.

    So it begins. These story are going to be abandoned, because there is no real source, no documentation, nothing to make them real besides some "anonymous" or "former unnamed official". The real question is, when will Liberals / Democrats at large catch up to their dishonest propaganda outlets like CNN, NY Times, MSNBC, WaPo, and others and realize they have been lied to for months for pure political reasons? When will they realize that the Gruber method of lying to pawns was played on them specifically?

    I guess this is going to be the new standard right wing throwaway story. Like the collection of out of context and date Democratic quotes about Iraq that right wingers threw up like a dead fish to peddle their fake belief that Bush didn't con us into a war in the wrong country.

    I've seen this one about three times now. Most of these stories are so petty that they aren't worth mentioning. Several of them are actually true.

    But, the collection does show the comic book world view of the folks that use it. Putting a story about whether Nancy Sinatra liked the way Trump used one of her father's songs on the same plain as whether the Russians hacked a US election is the sort of game that shallow morons play.

    In journalism, this is called a retraction. This is what professionals do when they find out they got it wrong.

    Right wingers may be forgiven for not being familiar with the concept. Breitbart, Fox Noise, and the like are not in the habit of issuing retractions, although they are in the routine habit of publishing false and misleading stories, and smearing people.

    The term CNN investigative reporter seems to me to be a huge oxymoron. CNN is a propaganda machine, pure and simple.

    Intelligence sources emphasize to NBC News that there is no evidence that Donald Trump collaborated behind the scenes with Putin or the Russians. A senior intelligence official also said that the possibility of Trump shifting his position on the hacks "will scare the bejesus out of the Kremlin."
