Guns are so complex that special training is needed to use them and so simple that makes murder easy.

Murder was never complicated in the first place. But as has been mentioned before, it is not the point of the thread.

Yes, the point of the thread is to ignore common sense and impose the idea that something is needed even though the sheer lack of evidence proves it is not.

People that promote this are called busybodies.

Guns do not require special training.

    Strawman, fallacy.

Ayuh,... That's what I've been sayin' all along,...

It's the Cops that are Dangerous with guns...

They're either shootin' somebody they shouldn't be shootin',...
Or emptyin' their guns at criminals, 'n completely Missin' 'em altogether...

I've been to the range with Cops who couldn't hit the broadside of a Barn,....

Standin' Inside, with the doors closed...

    With their Service weapon...

I do remember quite a few years ago in Ohio I think, a suspect shot 8 times and hit 9 people and the officer shooting back, he was within 20 feet shot 21 times and missed every shot.

I've been looking for that story, I found it a funny story, sad about the 9 people though.

I think I heard about that. It doesn't surprise me though. I do know most people don't stop to aim in a gun fight because if they did, the gun fight would be over. My wife and I like watching those reality shows that show holdups, police chases etc. and I always point out to my wife that in a gun fight, most people are actually looking the other way or completely behind cover and just pointing the gun in the general direction of the threat.

There was no law mandating children to go to school untill the 1900's. Now my question is, "Where did the government aquire the power to mandate that"?

I have a question, Wol, there is only so much to learn about the way any weapon functions. The handling of all weapons is about the same. So what test would you consider viable? Whether a person can hit the broad side of a barn with a hand gun? Most semi's haven't an accurate range beyond 25 yards. True, some do but the majority don't. A revolver (depending on the caliber) has an accurate range about 4 times that far. So, do you go with what the police use as a firing range (now it's 25 yards, when I was a reserve officer it was 60 yards) or what???

There is only so much to to learn about how a firearm functions, however there is much to learn on how to shoot it well. As I said before, the requirements should not be any greater than what police officers are required to shoot.

concealed carry permit means only the right to hide your gun from the public, everyone is allowed to carry a gun unconcealed

Not in Illinois. You can't carry a loaded weapon in any public areas or on any public land - including roads. You can't even have a loaded weapon in your car. You may only carry a loaded weapon while on private property.
