Freshman Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) has been blocked from joining the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), according to a report.

The caucus has been blocking the black Republican from membership, according to a source familiar with the CBC’s plan who told BuzzFeed News.

BuzzFeed noted that it had been nearly six months since the new freshman class from the previous election were inducted into the Congress, adding that the group is a “powerful and nominally nonpartisan group of black lawmakers in Congress.”

Though there is not currently a Republican member in the group, according to their official website. Donalds, who won his election in November for the first time, has not been included in that group.

This is ridiculous. It’s supposed to be a non partisan group. There is no rational justification for excluding this African American from the congressional black caucus. He is a promising new member likely destined for leadership one day or the senate.

I wonder if the fact he was an African American elected from an overwhelmingly white conservative district disqualifies him from being black like Biden once said about some African Americans?

Donalds was one of the many Republicans that voted against certifying the electoral college.

I guess the rule in these threads is to post something else 3 minutes later...

For the most part, Black Republicans have only one thing in common with Black Democrats...

Black Republicans should form their own caucus.. with just one more member, they'd have enough to play Bridge....

So it's ideology rather than skin color. Been saying that for years, glad you agree that Black Dems representatives don't really care about....blacks.

He ain’t black. Biden said it. Unless you’re Democrat and vote a certain way, YOU AINT BLACK.

And the racist caucus proved him right. It should be disbanded immediately for racism. And as usual black lives sure as **** don’t matter when it’s not the correct black lives. Case closed as usual.

The black caucus isn't very diverse.

Why should the CBC admit somebody who refused to certify a valid election? It's not like somebody like that respects the traditions of the country....

Saying it’s valid does not make it so

Congress saying it's valid actually does make it so.... Congressional people voting against it for the flimsiest reasons imaginable does not make it not so....

So, the black caucus, by your description, is a monolithic group incapable of inclusion. Got it. Your team are the masters of exclusion. This reminds me of Jim Crowe.... Except its black on black this time.

4 out of 10 Black GOP members since 1971 have been allowed to join (some declined)... While you marvel at the fact that your party only has, on average, 1 black member every 4 years, note that desired GOP members, who want to join, are allowed to join...

Do you want to REQUIRE a select group have their members selected for them?? Is that what you want??

I want a white congressional caucus whose stated goal is the advancement of white interests. Like the black congressional caucus does.

But that would be racist wouldn’t it?

at least @Egoboy came in to TRY and defend this madness. I don't see any other leftists with the guts to come into this thread. Most lefties like to ignore racist actions on their party's side. Props for trying @Egoboy looks like your fellow lefties left you in the dust though. They probably went on to make more Trump threads in hopes this goes to page 2

    That's racist.

Blacks can't be racist because of their race. Haven't you heard?

Well... thanks, but I don't remotely see this as "madness".... It's simply failing to invite/approve a Congressperson to their select group who evidently doesn't share the values of the group...

Calling this racist is laughable.... I cover the history of Black GOP in this group in post #14...

You saying its laughable is what's laughable. Its RACIST actions like these that deter more blacks for running on the right. I think what's also LAUGHABLE is only SELECTIVELY being a SJW (only when it fits your narrative)
Sad! but still. PROPS for trying. Oh so clever with that bridge comment! Keep up the good work of proving the hypocrisy of the left. You have done well so far. Good Job!

Just so I'm clear, you oppose the entire concept of the CBC, not their ability to approve their own membership??

The viability of that organization is another argument for another day (which you will lose at that time)...

Please explain... How is the CBC denying membership to a Black Congressperson racist??

I'm dying to see how this works...

You don't think it's a little strange that Black GOP members represent .011 pct of the entire caucus?
