I share this man's confusion wrt this partisan reality.

I hope they do wear a mask. I went to Aldi this morning to do my shopping. The greater (cleaning shopping carts and clearly not happy with what he was tasked to do) gave me this "why are you wearing that mask? You can hardly breath" my response was "I prefer to have a hard time breathing because I'm wearing a mask, then not breath at all because I didn't". He just gave a fake laugh, but he had all the time in the world to think what to respond while I was doing my shopping. Because when I came out he addressed me again "That mask won't protect you from the virus, you know". To which I responded: "No... but it will protect you"

It's unbelievable, but it looks like wearing a mask has become a partisan issue. The divisiveness this President has created is beyond belief.

 

I'll be honest, I don't see how conservatives can reconcile these points without giving in on their claims. I'm willing to hear otherwise, but I haven't seen anything that makes me think their logic is consistent.

 

What can one say about this ridiculous Facebook post other than that it's a pastiche derived from a dumpster.

Yet the holes in your mask that allow you to breath are about 2 to 3 times the size of the covid virus.

 

It has an N95 filter. But regardless, that's the reason why it won't protect me. But it will help protect others.

And that's the reason why Trump doesn't wear them. He couldn't care less about protecting others.

It was a national joke when the Governor of Georgia announced in early April that he had "discovered" that asymptomatic people could spread the virus. Because there were very few moderately informed people that didn't know that already.

Today is May 10. Mark it on your calendar... Because this is the day when you discover the same thing.

 

Further one should note that the experts are all over the place when it comes to masks. This lack of unity has nothing to do Trump and everything to do with the fact that there is no real unity if opinion among the experts.

 

Sorry already known. For that reason among others the lock downs have been fairly ineffective.

 

How is it supposed to be protecting others if you don't even have the virus? I've done shopping at the store w/o a mask. One to get in the door, then off she goes. People look at me like I'm an alien.

 

Looks like you're about 2 months behind on understanding this pandemic. You need to get up to date because it's dangerous.

The only reason measures haven't worked in our country as well as they have in others is that here it's been difficult to educate people. At least today we made some progress in your case. Lesson 2: All information you hear on Fox or any of their echo-chamber is false. People who haven't learned those two lessons are the ones who spread the virus the most right now.

 

How would you know that you don't have the virus?

I can assure you that "alien" is not quite what they're thinking you are. Think of the words that are not allowed on this forum, and you will be closer to what all those people are thinking about you.

It's amazing that our country hasn't managed to reach the level of education about this virus that even many so-called "underdeveloped nations" have achieved.

It inhibits your (possibly infected) breath and droplets from spewing all over the place. Have someone stand in profile to strong sunlight and you'll see the droplets plain as day while they speak. Put a mask on them and do the same and the distance the droplets travel is FAR less

Maybe you missed it (intentionally) but you can spew the infection for DAYS and never know you are sick

 

Because its been long enough that symptoms would have shown up by now. I'm exposed everyday, and its been far longer than 14 days. That, or the virus tried to take hold and my system killed it. Either way, that's how I know I don't have the virus. The issue isn't an lack of education. For example, did you know that virus droplets can travel up to 29 feet,, not 6 therefore making social distancing redundant?

That, or you're asymptomatic and spreading it around. And that's very likely since you say you are "exposed to it every day" And also given that it's obvious you don't understand how viruses work. That, or you haven't caught it in the last two weeks. Which doesn't mean you can't catch it today... or tomorrow... or a week from now. And then spread it around like wildfire.

Look! Let's get one thing straight: you are not educated on this subject. And I swear I don't say this to demean you. But because it's the lack of education that you show here precisely of the type that kills people!

No! You don't know you don't have the virus unless you undergo testing. And if you go to testing today, and come out negative, you don't know if you'll be infected tomorrow.

Who knows... you can be exposed for four, five, six, ... twenty weeks and not get infected, and then get infected on the twenty first week.

Bottom line, and I say this to you because you need to hear it more than anybody on this forum: stay at home!!! I'm serious. You don't know enough about this virus to be around people. Take a week off and read up on it. You are putting people's lives at risk.

 

If I’m not showing signs, why bother getting tested? I’m being serious here. Since when? Since this thing really broke out in March and governors decided to become dictators. Even if I tested positive, would I quarantine? Unless I am physically ill, the answer is no.

Loom it up, viruses can spread further than 6 feet. The CDC lost its credibility a long time ago, Fauci is only making people afraid at this point so we can’t listen to him either. So we have to think for ourselves. Seriously, take a breath. This virus does not need to control your life. Nor do you need to go out in public like you live in a hospital. Falling to that level means the virus, not you, is winning the war.

 

The division is the point, the objective.

That said, try having your groceries delivered. Reduces stress and solved my impulse food buying. Although I’m getting a little spoiled because all I need “mysteriously” appears on my front porch and all I have to do is open the door

 

And you decided to become a doctor! Those you call "self-proclaimed dictators" are saving lives. The self-proclaimed doctors are wasting them.

The answer is one thousand percent a big fat yes!!!!!

At least so you can read up a bit and you understand that if you are exposed to the virus every day, as you said, not being physically ill is absolutely meaningless. And that even if you are not infected, and not infecting anybody, your whole defense of people not wearing a mask will add to the absolute ignorance that is going around in this country, and that has made it the country with the most number of infections in the world. You learning that the virus can spread more than 6 feet is a start. Those of us who have been following the research have known that for months. So you still have a lot of catching up to do.

And they have lost it for purely political reasons. Not because they don't know what they're talking about. But Trump supporters can't stand the fact that real science contradicts their leader. And you have exemplified this in real time.

 

Unfortunately, Aldi doesn't deliver in my area. Others do. And the bulk of my groceries I order online from Walmart. I drive by and they just stuff them in the trunk of my car. But there are just certain things that I can only get at Aldi.
