I was always puzzled as to why Trump supporters never minded anything he said. It was very odd, previous leaders get criticised by even those who voted for them, but no matter what Trump says, no matter how wrong, how ridiculous, they never complain.

And then wonder why we call it a cult.

You are right. I t is a very interesting phenomena. And yes...the "cult" premise does apply. Cults usually have authoritarian types of leaders. Trump is authoritarian. He not only has control over his followers, he has control over the staff around him : eg the senate. Ge operates using fear tactics. No one wants to be shamed in public on Twitter, Fired in the most cruel of ways..... or made cruel fun of. He is a threat........as he is willing to abuse his power to achieve HIS goals....... and is rather ruthless in how he treats others. Just like folks that join a cult........ his followers must like this behavior. They might even see him as a parental figure. They interpret his cruelty as strength. "weakness" is not looked at kindly in the USA. Bullies have their following and they use the same tactics. what is troubling is that he is not going away. He might leave the Oval office........but having tasted real power, he will be a negative presence in politics and will try to thwart anything that Biden does. That s the destructive prow of a psychopath. He might even try to run things from the outside. He is cunning..& devious and cannot be underestimated .......as in his mind rules don't apply to him. ..

Trump announces lawyer Rudy Giuliani has Covid

    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/20...liani-has-covid-n1250163?cid=eml_nbn_20201206

No surprise........he has been following the Trump non protocol. No masks, hugging peple. The White house is going for its own herd immunity. Fifty ears from now....history will look back and wonder why these in charge were so stupid and irresponsible . And be shocked that so many stood by silently.

You may be right at that. Trump was no normal president that I could see. Trump had the least in Government/political experience or served in the military.

Three former presidents are out to do the COVID-19 vaccine is fine. There are those that will get it first. They'll have to wait their turn like everyone else.

Because "progressive" crowd is much worse and detrimental to the society
"Progressive" cult is much worse because they mislead lot of people by telling so called "truth" aka fake news.

That's not a reply to my post. How you feel about the progressive crowd is immaterial to you never questioning Mr Trump.

I'm still not too confidant in this vaccine. There seems to be too many complications with it. On the radio today (Radio BBC 5 live) during the phone in a doctor stated another complication in that the vaccine must be stirred but not shaken before administration. How are we going to know if the vaccine worked and the patient achieved immunity. I would be inclined to wait for a more reliable vaccine

Yes hope returns. Still can't get any indication as to when we can expect some sort of economic return, but the hope is that by the beginning of January we will have vaccinated everyone over 79 which represents over 70% of those who fall seriously ill.
    So maybe then.
I hope so, my own company has lost over $1.3million so far this year.

The first ones that get the vaccine will be the health care workers and those in the nursing homes and elder care. Everyone else waits their turn.

As they said on our BBC news. Remember this fact, it will be the third question in every quiz show from this moment on. :w00t::D

That is very narrow view. Trump is a weapon against "progressives", that is only one we have, despite all deficiencies.

Yet still not one criticism of anything he's done, is he fragile? Do you fear that if you criticise one thing he has done your enemies will rise up and beat him?
If so it back fired, he became unbelievable a parody of a man. And the lack of criticism, the vilification of anyone who spoke against him lead many to question their faith in him and finally break away.

Agreed. He turned into a grotesque caricature of himself. It was like watching one of those housewife shows. Nothing but drama; no real content. Empty calories. All that.

Certainly is, so much better than spending your time spreading Covid among your adoring fans and making pithy comments on twitter.

People with a "significant history of allergic reactions" should not be given the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, UK health authorities said Wednesday, after two healthcare workers had symptoms after receiving a shot the day before.

The precautionary advice was given after the pair "responded adversely" following their shots on the first day of the mass vaccination rollout in the UK, National Health Service England said Wednesday.
Both staff members reportedly had a significant history of allergic reactions and carried adrenaline autoinjectors, according to PA Media. Thousands overall are believed to have been vaccinated in the UK on Tuesday.
"As is common with new vaccines the MHRA [Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency] have advised on a precautionary basis that people with a significant history of allergic reactions do not receive this vaccination after two people with a history of significant allergic reactions responded adversely yesterday," said Stephen Powis, the national medical director for NHS England, in a statement. "Both are recovering well."

I have a friend, a runner, who had COVID back in August. She made a full recovery.

She is now having difficultly with her lung capacity. The doctor isn't sure if this is short term or lifelong. She is scheduled to run races in 2021, but the doctor thinks she may have to cancel.

Frightening isn’t it when you consider how many people have already had the virus?
It’s going to be a shock to the health care system.

The vaccines that are supposed to combat COVID-19 are said that they are like 80 to 95%. Why can't they be 100% effective? I guess they really can't if there are those that could suffer side effects of it.

indeed. The repercussions will be broader than just the health care system. People won't be Able to work......and the rippled effect from that will be damaging. It is such a multi pronged problem. You are right: it is very concerning.....
