It sort of changed a little, because they come now not for American dream. But for money while hating the US. And the trade charters initiated by the US are questioned. The one with EU never signed. The one for trans-pacific zone was promised to be cancelled. I don't say that you are gonna die because most people in the world find anti-Americanism amusing. I say that the poll tells the fact: People used to like the US, but don't do so any longer. I don't even insist that it is fault of the americans, government, president or media. I just want a discussion why it happens and when it ends.

I understand that making both Palestinians and Israelis happy is an impossible task and I understand why the choice of the US was about Israel. I also understand why Albania and Kosovo like the US. The same probably for African countries. But what about Germany? More than 70 percent of disliking there. Canada? Scandinavian countries? If I was to choose between the 2 lists those whom I would like to like Russia I would definitely choose the first list.

Although I understand that these people don't like Russia as well.

Honestly, I don't care. I'm an American and I care about this country. What other countries think is immaterial.

It's all very satisfying to adopt the "so what" attitude and be a hyper-nationalist. Unfortunately, at some point, the US will have to approach some foreign government and ask for a favor that can't be bought with money. Going it alone also has it's disadvantages when it comes to problems outside our borders that require another government to trust our word.

Of course, people with this attitude will simply have to learn the hard way about the down side of this attitude.

The country most disappointed by USA is Norway. They are less disappointed from Russia that annexed Crimea by force than USA.
I think next year the Americans should annex Greenland, this will make them more popular in Norway for sure.

The world likes a weak America with an impotent president so they liked Obama. They don't like a strong America with a strong assertive president so they dislike Trump.

Asking another country for "a favor" such as flying over it's airspace for a military operation should not be based on how we have sucked up to them. It should be based on their respect for our power our strength and what we can do for them, not what they can do for us

You are wise to reserve your judgement on Trump about this. IMO, it started visibly during the second Bush, but with a wider angle it takes its roots back to the end of the Cold War, when the "new world order" that we presently live in was (more or less) designed.

When Obama was President, the world outside the US view it like a prodigal son returning home; people conscious that the US was in the wrong at many places, but with such a good will such as Obama's that could only be a mistake, and the US would return to being "good cop" soon enough.

In that sense the election of Trump left a bitter aftertaste to the rest of the world, but the truth is, he is only following the road that un-changing "advisors" chose for him and his predecessors, in many ways. In fact, Obama didn't made much better than Trump on the international scene - he just looked better (that is un-deniable).

The OP is misled a great deal if they think for one moment that the majority of Americans care one nickel about if the world disapproves of us. After eight years of Obama and failed economic and geopolitical policies the world still didn't like us.

I liked very much President Trumps speech to the UN. It was a heads up that we the US want every country to stand up! Take ownership of your and your neighbors problems and stop thinking America owes anyone anything.

I agree that it is not all Trump's fault, but some of the ill will directed to the US is very much his fault.

The whole truth is that 16 years worth of military aggression and war crimes committed in other parts of the world in furtherance of the US/Israeli "Global War On Terror" generates massive amounts of ill will and hostilities toward Washington DC.

This is really a stupid way to look at the poll.
The poll puts USA as top most approved state in the world.
Rather than look at the obvious which it so positive, OP chose to looks for some minuscule negative to write on.

The world is messed up. Dictators, communists, socialists, crazy mullahs, etc. I wouldn't want a president that got approval from the "international community".

Careful, you almost described "mutual respect", which is something foreign to this administration.

Let me help you libs out...

The same nations that don't like Trump just loved Obozo the clown, because any nation would love to deal with a weak US president over a tough guy like Trump.

Think of it like this, if you had to fight, would you prefer to fight a lib in a vagina costume with a dido or a conservative with an AR15? Of course anyone would pick a fight with Barry over Trump, it's called a no brainer.

Who cares what the world thinks of the US.

I mean they have always hated the US which is why so many immigrants want to go there.

Why can't america piss of its customers, its not like our military doesn't have the world by the balls.

Why should america care about what other governments think, its not like the american economy is dependent on trade.

Why can't america piss off their allies, its not like they have any other options in the alignment of geo-political power.

Why shouldn't America squander its good will in churlish tweet storms and stupid public statements from the president.

Why shouldn't America reject science and abdicate global leadership in emerging industries.

Why shouldn't America be proud of the Trumpian values and screw the rest of the world.

Yea! America! gonna to be great agin' - and screw what them damn ferriners think.

    I mean WCGW?

That the same "tough guy" with 5 deferments from military service ? The same guy with a man-crush on Putin ? The same guy who hired a foreign agent to be his national security adviser ?

The only no-brainers here are the cons who think talk = action. And that includes the clown-in-charge, Chump.

No that was a deliberate reflection of your own nonsense. I keep telling you guys what I am doing and you just can't accept that I could possibly be motivated by my personal strategy to uphold my principles, maintain my intellectual integrity and express my ideology.

I recognize I just mentioned some alien concepts to most of the grab bag of scummy fascist racist supremacist bigoted right wingers and scummy looney left wing fringer counterparts, but that doesn't change the truth.
