Do Americans Have a ‘Collective Amnesia’ About Donald Trump?
Isn't it wonderful that we, as a society, can play with reality like children without consequences? It seems a Trump vs Biden rematch is very likely. And, the polls say that Trump is likely to win this time. But of course there's the little matter of term limits which assure that a winner Trump will have his last go at the presidency regardless. Unless he manages to get Congress to repeal term limits. Then he could be the FDR of the Republican party. Run until he dies.

PS Back to being children, we have forgotten about Trump's attacks on healthcare, climate science, and legal justice. But who remembers that, right?

    Oh no!
How could we forget. We get daily reminders of every Trump ........... thing from the media.

I think its one of the reasons his popularity is so high.
"TRUMP THE VAGINA GRABBER!! TRUMP LIES!! TRUMP CON!!!"
All are so often repeated and most often exaggerated/spun/outright lies shouted from that high moral ground democrats try to claim that the natural reaction is to root for the underdog as opposed to the arrogant bloviators.

Add to that the democrats own scandals and rascals, and one finds it difficult not to back trump, warts and all.

I defended people in the past for voting for Trump if they thought of him as the lesser of two evils. I was wrong to do so.

Trump is the lesser of two evils. Biden is the biggest disaster to hold the white house in 100 years

Until he pulls a Trump and tries to overthrow the election, he'll still be thousands of times better than Trump.

How did questioning the results of an election become the overthrow of an election?

Speaking of term limits. Would it surprise anyone if trump decided to run again (if he wins this time) on the grounds that he did not have two "consecutive terms?? He is as devious as they come. His supporters continue to ENABLE his dysfunctional and irrational behavior. THAT is a form of fanaticism. He knows exactly how to play them and they respond like they have been "trained" (conditioned) to do

Not so. There is a large segment of followers that adore him. (the worse he is, the better they like him)

They have adopted his "values" as their own. And we all know where his "values' lie.

Are you familiar with the notion of 'questioning' versus 'accusing'? I have zero issue with a person who questions something. I do, however, have a problem with accusing others of wrong doing with zero evidence. It is especially bad when it is done with an international microphone. Facts matter. A lot.

Actually in politics facts don't matter at all because most facts are actually just opinions. Look at your first sentence above. I stated an opinion and you disagreed with it. No facts involved.

Curious opinion. You talk like he is a messiah. He isn't. He is a former businessman turned politician. I have respect for businessmen and consider politicians to be the scum of the earth. I'm not alone in that opinion.

Actually, good point about politicians. And Trump is as scummy as they get. Biden has issues.......but at least he seems to care about the nation while Trump cares for himself and HIS sleazy ambitions first. Trump has literally singe handedly changed the fabric of American politics.......for the worse. And one cannot believe a word that comes out of his mouth.

So I'm an idiot that's trained like Pavlov's dogs to do whatever he says. And you're a genius who simply knows that Biden is the second coming of Christ.

    That's your view?

    Sure. Pull the other one.

Biden is no second coming. Nor is Trump. To even refer to eitehr of them that way is silly & counterproductive. That does not deny that Trummp is a CON man. A shyster, and psychologically troubled. His OBSESSION with money and POWER are abnormal. He is prone to deception and diversion and projection when caught in any of his wrong doings Everyone else is to blame EXCEPT him for HIS issues troubles, legal issues and crazy ideas and comments. His is a master MANIPULATOR in a very unsophisticated *boorish) way.

But if he is your guy........go for it.

He did exactly what he said he would, particularly in the automotive regulatory area (my profession). And he seated this Supreme Court which stands to overturn Chevron in June. No matter how much you hate him due to what progressives have told you, he's very close to righting the regulatory state and returning us to Constitutional norms.

    Sorry to deflate your delusions.

So You indicate some selective items that he did that worked for you. That is great. Hearing specifics like that is important.

It’s not loss of memory about Trump, it’s this rematch that most Americans don’t want. Most Americans don’t want Biden reelected; most don’t want Trump to regain the white house. Biden’s overall job approval is below 40% along with his approval on most issues.

    https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/approval/joe-biden/approval-rating

    https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/approval/joe-biden/issues

59% of all Americans state they miss Trump’s policies on the economy, immigration and crime. That their lives were better under Trump than Biden.

    https://harvardharrispoll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/HHP_Feb2024_KeyResults.pdf

67% of all Americans think Biden is too old to effectively serve another 4-year term as president. 41% said they think Trump is too old also.

Only 34% think Biden has the mental fitness to serve a second presidential term, while 48% believed the same for Trump.

    https://www.axios.com/2024/02/22/biden-trump-age-poll

You have 56% of all Americans who don’t want Biden to run again, 54% who don’t want Trump to run again either.

    https://d3nkl3psvxxpe9.cloudfront.net/documents/econTabReport_XLG2Z6p.pdf

I could go on for pages, but the bottom line is most Americans dislike and don’t want neither one to become the next president. Most Americans still dislike Trump, but Biden has joined him dropped to Trump level in the number of Americans who dislike him. Most Americans look at this upcoming rematch with dread and unwantedness. 64% of all Americans state this country needs another viable choice other than Trump and Biden.

    https://www.aol.com/poll-dread-tops-list-americans-191803856.html

No memory loss, it’s just the fact the democrats are now running a candidate as disliked and unwanted as Trump. This isn’t 2020 anymore and Trump isn’t president. Biden is, when a sitting president runs for reelection it’s a referendum on the sitting president. Not the challenger.

IF that is the case (and it might be), why did Niki not come out much further ahead?? She is definitely a very reasonable and realistic option. She is smarter , younger , and yet........ So what the heck have the people been thinking......when she was such a viable option. They are going for trump in droves. That speaks to the voters' mentality too.

LSM will not let Americans forget about Trump. You must have serious amnesia when it comes to LSM and their coverage of Trump.
