First he said he would release his taxes. Then he said he would release his taxes after his audit Then he said he would release them even before the audit was over if Clinton released her speeches. Then he went back to saying he would release them after the audit. Now he says he won't release them at all. No surprise that the well-established charlatan is fond of his little shell games.

It didn't take him 4 years. And he already had a passport, so that argument is ludicrous. Yes, it was a silly little conspiracy theory that has now become a national embarrassment.

Individual income tax returns — including those of public figures — are private information, protected by law from unauthorized disclosure. Like all other citizens, U.S. presidents enjoy this protection of their privacy. It's also a tradition for presidents to tell us what we want to hear and do nothing once elected. Seems Trump is doing everything the right way. It's driving you crazy knowing that America will be a better place because of a Republican that doesn't give in to your every demand.

No more caving to his own word. Then again, that was obviously never a priority for him.

But what is so (*)(*)(*)(*)ing hilarious here is folks are defending Trump's lie. He lied to the world, and his supporters, some of them at least, defend it. Defend his lack of character. Defend his duplicity. Defend his willingness to screw over the American public. The man has only been president 3 days and has gone back on something he said literally dozens of times he would do.

He promised that he would release them, but now he says that the fact he won means that not enough people care about them, so he won't release them. There are really only two possibilities:

    1) He thought he was going to lose and planned on releasing them anyway.
    2) He was lying his ass off and never had any intention of honoring his word.

It's a tax return, quit being so uptight. It'll have as much bearing on your life as the slacks he wore yesterday.

Trump doesn't give a rat's behind what anyone thinks but Trump and even there, that can change.

If reality is dependent upon the Trumpian Will how much more so must be public opinion. I'm quite convinced that when he loses the next election he will call the results "fake news" and simply refuse to step down, and I believe his lickspittle minions will agree wholeheartedly. Melania will have to finally refuse to live in such straitened circumstances as the White House any longer and move back to Trump Tower before he'll go.

To be fair, this is an advisor saying this. Has Trump weighed in on the matter?

Either that or he's playing the same game that obama played when he waited 3 years to release his BC. The difference here is that not releasing tax returns isn't going to have any effect on Trump's presidency. A birth certificate that show's you weren't born in America would cost you the position. It was far more important to see that BC than tax returns.

    Which is nonsense.

Your are comparing Trump's lying to the American people with a bad right wing conspiracy theory, one that Trump himself bought into and promoted, one where facts were ignored in order to promote nonsense.

The simple fact here is Trump stated multiple items he woudl release his taxes when the audit was complete, and he lied. Why are folks defending his lies?

Well said. I too am in complete agreement. I find it amazing that people think they learn something about a person by viewing a tax return. Especially about a person who has been a publicly known figure for 4 decades. It's laughable really.

Ok, fair enough. I remember him saying that he'd release them when the audit was complete. I'd be lying if I said it bothered me that he hasn't released them though, because it will have no bearing on any America lives.

What do you think he's hiding?

I was skeptical when obama refused to release his birth certificate and I thought he was hiding his birth country because of it. So what do you think Trump is hiding from us?

Trump is a lying sack of (*)(*)(*)(*) on this, and it's hilarious to see the absolute hypocrisy of the average trumpophile on display here. "Trump is doing erverything right! All politicians lie and don't do what they say they will do policy wise" Sure - sure. But he's doing everything right?

You want to know WHY I want his tax returns?

Because I want to see what he writes off, how much of it, and why. That's why.

But hey, don't blame me. Blame your bull(*)(*)(*)(*) lying demagogue for again failing to stick to his word.

I guess it's just "alternative facts."

The fact that he is has debt up his ass, is not wroth nearly what he claims, and has all sorts of foriegn entanglements that he lies about.

    1. His actual worth.

    2. What he writes off and why.

    3. How much the tax payers are subsidizing his wealth through his tax loop holes.

    4. Foreign investments and other more sordid affairs, possibly?

It's protocol, not required. It's an act of good faith.

    And Trump has failed.

72 hrs in and he has failed. His administration has acted like a school yard bully, snot nosed and whining, careening down a cliff side in a clown car, crying and (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about what the media SHOULD be covering, instead of focusing on the very real connivance and demagoguery of the Trump Admin upon taking office.

Does that even matter? No, it doesn't. Trump is just... lying. As usual.

The difference being that there was already plenty of evidence he was born in America and literally nothing by tinfoil hat theories saying that he wasn't. And on the other side we have Trump supporters resisting even a baseline level of scrutiny of their candidate.

    - - - Updated - - -

The latest from the Trump campaign is that it doesn't matter. He won't release his returns even after the audit.

I'm not defending it, I'm telling you that it has no bearing on your life. I'm comparing it to the BC ordeal because that was defended in the same sense, but by the left. Trump was bugged over and over for his tax returns so he was giving answers to shut people up. Admittedly it was a bad move that was spur of the moment, not thought through, and gave ammo to people to use against him, but I couldn't care less if he releases them or not. It won't effect this country one iota.

Yep. He's untouchable. Even as his administration rants and raves like a batched of drugged lunatics.

The next 4 years is going to be a long, long replay of that clown car previously described tumbling into the abyss, over, and over, and over again.

Well, as it turned out Trump's birther idiocy was disproved conclusively, and Obama did release his tax documentation. Tax-dodger Trump refuses to. Why might that be? It may not have an impact on his Presidency, but it may well have a significant impact on his credibility and honesty, both of which have frequently come into question, and not only by his opponents but those within his cabinet.

We don't care. The audit insures that he has followed the law... That is all we care about.

It would show we have a lying sack of (*)(*)(*)(*) blowhard d-bag as president, something becoming painfully more obvious with each passing day. A man so obsessed with wealth that he would lie about his own to bolster himself, a man riddled with insecurities, a man that is moral failure.
