Maybe because when you put out fake news and half truths in order to advance your agenda, they are the enemy of the people. They have a duty to the people to put out the truth no matter what it is.

 

The fact that MSM reports Trumps lies and missteps more than other news doesn't mean they are instigating hostility and outrage. They are holding POTUS responsible for his words and actions. If that creates outrage and hostility, perhaps POTUS should consider his words and actions. Shouldn't he be held responsible for inciting such anger in his citizens? He can call it fake news all he wants, but his IS making people angry and, frankly, ashamed. What is his responsibility for that?

 

The passive response encourages aggressive attackers. It is a strategy for losing.

Reports anything they can construe to be lies or mis-steps... and the key word is construe; producing a conclusion that is half-truth. The presidents real job is to take the nation where it needs to go, not to bend and sway to every change in the political wind. Especially when that wind is coming from people with short-term and personal objectives that disregard the long term good of the nation. Everybody wants the easy button; they want an answer that fits neatly into what they already believe, doesn't take any time, money or effort on their part, doesn't offend anyone, but of course- works for them. It's called delusion, and immaturity- fairy tale expectations.

That is not how politics work and it is not how life works. You can pretend you are going to deliver that (as most politicians do when they promise what is never delivered) but it's BS from the start. Trump IS contentious, he does call his critics out for their abusive tactics, and yes, he could avoid friction if he cow-towed and kissed more ass. And yes, he is responsible for what he says- and the MSM is responsible for what they say. To say "We are only acting like jackasses because Trump left us no choice" is parallel to the standard democratic logic of denying responsibility for self and expecting others to fix your problem. No sympathy here.

We've been supporting that kind of politics for decades, and all it has done is screw us all- democrats, republicans, independents. More of the same is hardly a cure for the disease, which is why Trump got elected and Hillary got kicked to the curb.

Repeatedly, he has attacked the First Amendment. "The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly." Neither Trump nor the White House explain what he is talking about.

It is called transference. Trump is transferring his faults to someone else, in this case, the media. The number one source of fake news is Trump himself and his countless lies.

The Press is protected, because of their duty to report to the people on-goings of the government which control them.

When that media carries a bias, and no longer provides valid or accurate information about the government, they are in-fact and enemy to the people.
