Have you seen the lawsuits against Trump and his family for refusing to pay contractors? Then instead of paying the agreed upon amount, he ties it up in court for years so the plaintiffs are forced to take a smaller amount. Definition of a crook.

What is "about Trump's position"? The thread is about his son having taken the Vth 500 times (as though the number proves something). But children have been known to disagree with their parents from time to time. Haven't you heard?

Why is this controversial, especially if you agree with Trump anyway?

We aren't entitled to know what his son thinks. He may think his answers would incriminate him, or he may think that no matter what he says, he can't win. (We're seeing that right here.) He may just fear embarrassment and is pretending that his answers would be incriminating. Or he may not know the difference.

Seriously, why does it matter? How does it matter? If the law says you can't use silence to prove guilt, why are you doing so?

How do you know that the contractors' suits have more merit than Trump's defenses and objections to the claims?

Is anyone else reading this thread and thanking God that we enjoy a presumption of innocence and have constitutional rights in this country? This mob is white with hatred and prejudice and ready to string up Trump AND his kids without a trial, and yet they have zero first hand knowledge of the merits of the cases.

Probably never. However, we will never how many people he has silenced by threatening them like he did with Ukraine.

The 5th amendment is not just a protection from incriminating oneself, but also a protection from being falsely incriminated. Which means one may plead the fifth if they believe divulging information may simply be used to make them appear guilty even when they are not.

The agreement to pay only after being cited shows Trump companies have been doing shady stuff. There was also the Trump university scandal and Eric Trump siphony money from a charity to other Trump organizations. The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.

HFS. The right calling out Biden for civility after the last 4 years of the Trump administration is the post of the year.

“Can you imagine if….” YES. He did it daily !

There are other reasons, however, 500 times tends to suggest guilt.

Besides, he must have felt stupid saying it, after his father ragged on it adamantly as a 'mob' thing.

It would be interesting to see if he ever said previously that he supported his father's view on the 5th amendment

number of times one pleads it has no bearing .. Interrogators can ask the same questions - around the same issue 500 different ways. repetition does not add anything to the equation.

Don't care about the particular issue , Don't know what Eric was being question on -- what ever Erics deal is has no bearing on the fact that. there are reasons other than guilt to plead the 5th.. which is a separate question from .. do I think he is guilty -- of which I have no idea because no idea about the particulars .. What did bad Eric do now ... more Witch hunting no doubt.

Was Eric Trump even in his administration? As far as I knew he was only part of his campaign and kind of a cheerleader afterwards

It's not my question. My question is, why is this important to you? I'll bet there are 20 stories within 10 miles of where you are sitting that are more important to your life.

Trump is no longer in office and can do no more of whatever horrible things you imagine that he did. Don't you think that at some point it's time to move on?

That's ancillary -- barely -- to the story that it was Eric Trump who took the 5th. I already pointed out above that children disagree with their parents on occasion. I thought this was common knowledge.

Trump doesn't drink and has told his kids not to. Are we going to go into hysterics if Eric is photographed with a beer in his hands?

If you think that Trump is right and that Eric is hiding something, tell us what it is.

    Specifics would be great.

    Daily, eh? "YES!"

No, I don't believe that, and if he had, the national press would have been in an uproar. What have they said about Biden calling Rosen an equivalent name?

The answer is that have yawned because Doocy works for Fox, and Biden (and the rest of the media, like most of this board), hates Fox.

Never mind that Doocy is a good guy and asked a perfectly reasonable question.

Oh my! Lemme let you in on a secrete not many know! In the U.S. that's a common tactic among the rich, sometimes it's less expensive to tie things up in court for decades.. And a lot of people think bankruptcy was designed for the poor too ;)
