I think just this one speech alone in 2010 implicates the President:

    August 09, 2010

    Four Seasons Hotel, Austin, Texas

THE PRESIDENT: … Right now all around this country there are groups with harmless-sounding names like Americans for Prosperity, who are running millions of dollars of ads against Democratic candidates all across the country. And they don’t have to say who exactly the Americans for Prosperity are. You don’t know if it’s a foreign-controlled corporation. You don’t know if it’s a big oil company, or a big bank. You don’t know if it’s a insurance company that wants to see some of the provisions in health reform repealed because it’s good for their bottom line, even if it’s not good for the American people.
A Supreme Court decision [Citizens United] allowed this to happen. And we tried to fix it, just by saying disclose what’s going on, and making sure that foreign companies can’t influence our elections. Seemed pretty straightforward. The other side said no.
They don’t want you to know who the Americans for Prosperity are, because they’re thinking about the next election. But we’ve got to think about future generations. We’ve got to make sure that we’re fighting for reform. We’ve got to make sure that we don’t have a corporate takeover of our democracy…

On August 27, 2010, his then White House Economic Advisor, Austan Goolsbee, made this very telling public comment:
"So in this country we have partnerships, we have S Corps, we have LLCs, we have a series of entities that do not pay corporate income taxes. Some of which are really giant firms, you know Koch Industries, is a multi-billion dollar industry," Goolsbee said."

After that statement by Goolsbee, there was an investigation as to whether he had released private confidential tax information. The results of that investigation has been denied to the Koch brothers, and to Congress as well. While the WH tells them it's information they can get through FOIA, they have yet to be allowed to obtain it.

It was also at this exact same time that conservative groups asking for their tax exempt applications be approved....were being asked by the IRS what their relationship with Americans For Prosperity was. All these things are not coincidental.

Excellent Post! During the time of that Speech who was Barack Obama's top political advisor? Susan Cutter!!!! Who attended the meetings with the IRS Boss and Barack Obama.... SUSAN CUTTER!

This was an orchestrated event from the very start to weaponize the IRS and use it to attack political opponents. This is straight out tyranny.

C'mon, JP5. That's ridiculous. He said he didn't like secret-money groups. How does that implicate him in anything?

A *lot* of people don't like secret-money groups, and say so openly. That doesn't implicate them in criminal efforts to suppress such groups.

And how is that telling? How does that implicate anyone in anything?

Nice assertion without any evidence at all.

It seems obvious to me that when a new type of political non-profit is on the rise (as they were after Citizens United) that will both attract condemnation from people who don't like them, and scrutiny from agencies tasked with regulating them. No coincidence needed; it's axiomatic

The same thing probably happened when PACs first showed up.

Exactly. What was Susan Cutter, the president's Deputy Campaign Manager doing attending the "nonpolitical" Obamacare implementation meetings with the former IRS Commissioner Shulman??? I hope the Republicans---as part of their hearings----has demanded all emails regarding all this. We need to see the emails between them---we need to also put them all under oath, with PENALTY OF PERJURY and possible time in prison.

Already answered. A little research, rather than breathless speculation, would have given you the answer.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephanie_Cutter

In 2010, Cutter was named Assistant to the President for Special Projects, charged with managing communications and outreach strategy for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

    See how simple that was?

So now that I've shown you why Cutter was sitting in on Obamacare meetings, I have to ask:

This particular argument has been made by several conservatives now. It seems obvious you're getting it from a common source or sources. So which conservative information source is pushing the Cutter connection, without bothering to inform you of her official role related to Obamacare? Because that source is doing you a grave disservice.

He doesn't like "secret money groups?" Then why does he have them? Do you honestly think he's interested in tracing the millions that George Soros puts into the liberal tax exempt organization.....to see if any of it comes from foreign sources.....or big banks....or big corporations......or big anything???? The Koch Brothers run legitimate businesses...and employ more than 50,000 people and contribute to many philanthropic endeavors. If they were donating to him....he wouldn't give two hoots where they money comes from. And you are bound to know that!

But the Americans For Prosperity lists all their Directors and Staff and tells all about them. UNLIKE the president's 501c4 which lists neither on their opening website. And oh yeah, the president brags he makes his donors public even though it's not required on a 501c4....but don't think for a moment that since it's not legally required, he wouldn't conveniently leave off a few IF their names would cause them any problems.

These are not new. Liberals have had them for years. What they don't like and are trying hard to prevent is for anybody other than liberals to participate in the use of them. The ONLY thing Citizens United changed.....was that now corporations and unions can partipate as well. And that goes for both sides of politics. Nothing unfair there.

Are you sure what the agenda of this meeting was? Do you think that obamacare implementation doesn't merit an internal political opinion wrt new taxes, how they would be collected, fraud reduction etc?

A meeting taking place is not evidence of anything without knowing what the agenda was.

You are simiply flinging unsubstantiated accusations at the administration with no evidence, as any good party hack would do.

So....you're saying that Pres. Obama was mixing up POLITICS with the IRS implementation of Obamacare? I have NO DOUBT she was "managing some communications," allright. Seriously, only Obama sychophants would believe this was okay. But let's resolve it; let's place her and Shulman under oath under penalty of perjury....okay?

And I demand a list of all the "Special Projects" she worked on for the President during 2010.

Their visits are public knowledge. It's not like they were meeting in secret and some whistle blower told the media, lol. And the head of special projects regarding Obamacare meeting with the head of the IRS regarding Obamacare is not that far fetched. In fact the way you are making it out to be such a conspiracy is hilarious! You guys are so desperate!

No they're not. We haven't a clue yet the specifics of what they were meeting about. You say it's all innocent. Okay....so let's get the details of exactly what "special projects" she did for the president during this time period. After all, she works for us; we pay her salary.

You realize that you're proposing a classic fishing expedition, right? Demanding records with no specific indication of wrongdoing, in the hopes that the records will show wrongdoing or provide fodder for further noisemaking?

Such a request would normally (and properly) run smack into the "executive privilege" wall.

One of her "special projects" is the communications role for Obamacare. She stated that she met with the IRS head in regards to communicating the changes that will be happening within Obamacare. Is that really too hard for you to believe, lol.

    It's very hard to believe.

The details of implementing Obamacare rest in HHS not the White House.

But HHS would not need to be involved with abuse of power at the IRS whereas Obama would be intensely interested in that political tidbit.

Hense 118 or 157 visits to the White House by the IRS commissioner.

The IRS was weaponized by the Democrats to attack their political rivals.

Tyranny: oppressive power exerted by government

The disgusting and filthiest part is that we actually have "Progressives" here that support these acts and support tyranny because it furthers their goal of Federal Authoritarian Government rule.

You mean its not like they were using fake identities and secret email accounts to avoid the Freedom of Information Act like Lisa Jackson and other Obama flunkies did?

How else would Shulman deliver the names and addresses of contributors to the Tea Party groups that the IRS collected?

He had to had carry them to avoid leaving a paper trail.

Is this story going to end up like the story where IRS Honcho Shulman's supposed 157 visits to the White House ended up being 11 over 4 years? Another neo-conservatives dream?

Well, not really a fishing expedition. We've got Congressional Hearings going on about it. We also have an IG report whose findings were that the IRS targeted conservative citizens. We've got IRS Director Lois Lerner planting a question and answering her planted question that....yes, we did target people and we are sorry about it. So, there is now no question, the IRS purposefully targeted conservative citizens. Now, we just need to find out how high up in the administration it goes. Lois Lerner took the 5th (on the grounds answering the question would incriminate her) and others either "couldn't remember" or "couldn't recall" what went on. It's time to examine the emails of those involved.

If it runs into it, then it would likely be a misuse of Executive Privilege, and could be challenged in Court.

Otherwise, they are supposed to be publicly available records, redacted only for national security and confidentiality, where it may effect non-participants or minors.

    Communications is lib-speak for politics.

If Shulman was not passing secret information over to Obama then he would have been meeting someone at HHS not the White House.

    Good so far....

... but here you lose it. Confirmed wrongdoing in one part of government does not justify an open-ended fishing expedition in other parts of government. You have to show reasonable cause.

In your case, you're saying that "Because the IRS improperly targeted 501(c)4 groups, we need to see the complete records of all administration meetings related to the IRS." That's incredibly broad, and would be smacked down by a privilege claim.

What you could do is demand records of any meeting related to the targeting. Additionally, if you had some sort of evidence that a meeting that was claimed to be about Obamacare was actually about the targeting, you could specifically ask for those records.

But the request has to be relevant and narrow.

No I'm not confusing it at all. The people involved have said the instructions were coming from Washington not Denver.

It is not their job to purposely delay the application process with absurd and outrageous request for information to which they have no business and to refuse to even acknowledge the request for clarifications and status of the applications by those applying. You really didn't listen to the testimony did you.

Their job was to apply the standards equally and not purposely target based on particular political view points expressed and these groups are ALLOWED TO HAVE POLITICAL VIEWPOINTS.
