You said the “downtrodden” pay more taxes because of the so called Trump tax cuts. That is not true.

Your so called “downtrodden” didn’t pay more in taxes after the Trump tax cuts. Your claim that they do is false. You won’t address your false comment. You just moved the goal posts.

Huh ? That’s ridiculous. Everytime the gop cuts taxes, deficits spike out of control. Under democrats, the increase in spending is no more on average then it is for GOP. The GOP has never cut spending. You’re living in a fact less dream world devoid of the truth. By your logic, if we cut taxes to zero, we’d have no deficits. That's like saying that if you quit your job and stopped collecting a salary, you’d owe less money.

You’re funny. It’s you who have no reference what so ever. None, zero, nada, nothing. You can find no reference that disputes the GOP are recession and deficit queens. They’re horrible. From business insider.

I'm curious. In what sense was the speech supposed to be 'official'.

Trump has no 'official' position now in terms of public authority. So a speech given by him now carries no more 'official' weight than one given by any other ex-President. He's just Don Trump private citizen, nothing more. Even if he was talking in some 'official' capacity as the major shareholder of Trump Group neither Fox or CNN are under any compulsion to give him more air time than any other corporate executive.

Yes here wee are with people getting all hot a bothered. Why?

Because Trump is a product of the GOP that caters to neo fascism within their own party. Denial of fair elections is a first step. His rallies are nothing more then professional wrestling designed to rally the base of white supremacy with fakery.

The obvious answer is both, or either. If you want to balance the budget, you either you spend less of tax more, or both.

Raising specific taxes in an area and raising tax rates causes an economic slowdown resulting in less revenues.

Which has nothing to do with your false claim that the “downtrodden” paid more in taxes because of the Trump tax cuts

If you want to balance the budget, you either you spend less of tax more, or both aka spend what you collect. That is a fact.

Raising taxes slows economic growth which results in less revenues. Deficits are caused only by overspending.

The way liberals balance a budget is a scam.

You can believe whatever you wish. I stick by what I said, because it is the truth. I am a firm believer balanced budgets, but there are too many people who think like you so it will probably never happen.

Again, the way liberals balance a budget is a scam. My way is to not spend more than you actually take in.

Trump increased the national debt by 36% (Reagan by 186%).

I don't care how liberals would do it, I only care how I would do it, which is the only way to make it work.

Right. Balance the spending with revenue. That is what I said, and yes, it CAN include tax adjustments like adding VAT to finance some of the spending, but everything is negotiable, and negotiate you must because neither side will give away their pet spending. You are arguing for the sake of arguing.

Yes, but Trump added 8 Trillion in 4 years while Reagan added about 2 trillion in 8 years, and Reagan had something to show for it. Value of money is different, but Trump is still by far the biggest spender we ever had, and no one comes even close.

No president has ever increased the national debt. Only the congress can do that.

When the president signs it, he/she owns it, and they also practically always ask for the money + as executive branch, they execute it aka spend it.

If you say "only congress an spend", then it would make GOP look even worse, given the fact that they held the purse majority of Bush, Obama time and half of Trump time.

They authorize it, the president signs it and executes it. The president could veto spending bills, but they almost never do. Nut sure, Congress holds the power of the purse and ironically it leaves the GOP being the fiscally irresponsible party. I say ironically because they are the ones always talking about fiscal responsibility.

As Rand Paul said "when GOP is in power, there is no conservative party in US". He thinks the GOP spending bills practically define hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty. Its too bad there are more people like him around, or more accurately - people like his father.
