Since you like repetition: But sure, Congress holds the power of the purse and ironically it leaves the GOP being the fiscally irresponsible party. I say ironically because they are the ones always talking about fiscal responsibility.

As Rand Paul said "when GOP is in power, there is no conservative party in US". He thinks the GOP spending bills practically define hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty. Its too bad there are more people like him around, or more accurately - people like his father.

    Sure....
Repos want everything for nothing. They live their military, social security and Medicare, but don’t want to pay taxes. They’re free loaders.

Wrong. The economy ALWAYS does better under under higher progressive taxation where every pays their fair share.

Many countries have chosen to finance their programs like health care via regressive taxation like VAT (consumption tax). It IS one option (not very popular in US). Then there is import tax, which Trump went All-In without much success.

Wrong. Congress passes budgets but ever cent the govt spends is by the administration. The admin is 8n control of the spending.

We pay the highest per capita for health care then any other nation. Nations with universal healthcare pay less....

No president has added one dime to the national debt. The various agencies in government spend the money the congress gives them. The president doesn't give them the money. The president can't cut their budget.

I'd like to see an honest and unbiased study on how much we'd pay in such system vs how much we pay now. I pay a lot now in premium + deductibles. I dont know if such system would ever work in US, but I'd like to see a study.

So the presidents signature is totally meaningless?

And quite often the people from those nations who can afford to do so come to the US for their critical health care needs.

No it's not. However the president can't void certain spending items from those bills. He also can't increase spending in any area. Only the congress can do that. Why do you suppose we occassionaly have these so called "government shutdowns?"

The House alone can stop all spending whenever it chooses to do so.
The President would have no legal power to interfere.

:roflol::roflol::roflol: Whatever. If you want a 'fair' tax, then everyone needs to pay the same rate, regardless of income level. Same percentage across the board = no discrimination based on income.

And FYI, I'm plotting my exit. It'll be a cold day in hell before I let the Democrats steal everything I've worked for.

But how would politicians get pay-offs if we had a flat tax? ;-)

They wouldn't and that's why they are against it. In Russia....just 30 years removed from Communism....they have 2 tax rates. 13% and 15%.

There used to be a great empire....the Roman Empire...and they all thought raising taxes more and more would only bring in more prosperity...:roflol::tombstone:

People do need more money for healthcare, but the last thing they need is government healthcare - it really sucks.

"In e-mail correspondence, The Arizona Republic asked VA officials to point out a previous inspector general report that listed untimely care as the cause of a patient's death. Griffin did not identify any such report or respond to questions about why he used the unprecedented standard in Phoenix.

He also would not discuss why his investigative findings did not address how many deceased patients might have lived longer if timely treatment had been available, or the hundreds of surviving veterans whose medical conditions could have been improved — or suffering reduced — if not for inappropriate delays in care.

Inspectors did not interview any veterans or family members before reaching their conclusions, according to a spokesman for the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs."
USA TODAY, Report on Phoenix VA deaths raises questions, By Dennis Wagner, Arizona Republic Published 9:44 a.m. ET Sept. 10, 2014.
