I would prefer they not sue for money but just require them tell the truth. They have captured the minds of an easily manipulated portion of our population — if you need an example ask them who the largest organization in the MSM is — and it would benefit society as a whole to just have a modicum of respect for facts instead of propaganda.

I don't think Fox is ever going to tell the truth unless it costs them money. It's indispensable for our democracy and our freedom of the press, that Dominion gets every penny they are suing for. And that every single person who has been slandered by Fox and Breitbart and ... every MAGA-journalist out there... understands that they deserve to be compensated by Fox. And it's not about the money they get, it's about the money the MAGA-media has to pay. Because that's the ONLY way they'll start practicing REAL journalism. It's the only way our freedom of press will survive Trump's post-truth era.

Not looking very good for Murdoch.

He has done just as much damage to millions of American's confidence in democracy has Trump has, though Trump is the prime bellows blowing the ill wind of fraud lies.

They should deport him, in my view.

Rupert Murdoch Admits Fox News Pushed Election Lies

In court filing, Dominion v Fox:

    https://int.nyt.com/data/documenttools/dominion-fox-news/54e33f20f7fb6e8d/full.pdf

    Page 51

When asked why Fox continues to give a platform to Lindell--who continues to this day to
spout lies about Dominion--Murdoch agreed that, "It is not red or blue, it is green".

Obviously alluding to the fact that lies do not matter, money does, and lies bring in the greenbacks.

When questioned about hosts endorsing the Big Lie about fraud:

    Page 33 (Citations truncated)

Rupert understood that Fox could do something about the false claims. Indeed, he believed Fox was uniquely positioned to state the message that the election was not stolen....On January 5, Rupert and Scott discussed whether Hannity, Carlson, and Ingraham should say some version of The election is over and Joe Biden won. ... He hoped those words would go a long way to stop the Trump myth that the election stolen. ... Scott told Rupert that privately they are all there but we need to be careful about using the shows and pissing off the viewers ... So nobody made a statement .

So nobody made a statement, well, so much for journalistic integrity, and the right vilifies CNN and MSNBC. Sorry, Fox has got to be the worst News program (with a large following, NewsMax et al are just as bad) on the air.

Just as Golem had said that-- while Dominion (& others) are entitled to damages-- the most important thing, for the rest of us, is that FOX/NewsCorp. have to pay, feel the pain, from their lying; so do I think, it is important that those here, still claiming there is no proof of FOX's deliberately misrepresenting what they knew to be true, have the proof of that, stuck in their faces. Unfortunately, your links are to an article, only for subscribers, and a video, which one needs to log in to an account, in order to view. That it is probably a free account, is beside the point, that those who are so dead set on denialism, are going to take any excuse, to not face the facts. Only making their maintaining of this fantasy, the equivalent of contending that the world is flat, or something that is similarly recognized, by all, as nonsense, could potentially quiet down their objections, trying to shout down the statement of facts, by any of the rest of us.

IOW, we who are not surprised by these stories, are going to see this news, and likely already have seen, some of it. Therefore links to this story, IMO, are more for the truth-deniers, so should be as easily accessed, as possible.

The US government is going after news media outlets they don't like now?

Huh? Other than this case being in our legal system, how is the government going after anyone?

That so many who support the official narrative refuse to view 2000 Mules tells me all I need to know. That 60 out of 63 courts involved in petitions from citizens refused to hold evidentiary hearings corroborates my skepticism.

uhh.. no it’s a civil case actually. It’s literally one private company suing another private company for defamation. As for what warrants a defamation case, it isn’t a mere matter of one party disliking what the other said, but rather it has to be something that is ruled a false statement of fact in court. This isn’t a new thing, it’s literally been a legal criteria in the US since the foundation of this country.

I don't think Faux is ever going to tell the truth.....full stop. They will just find more subtle ways to lie and disinform. And they certainly won't leave a paper trail admitting to their lies. I have no doubt Faux personalities told lies yesterday, will tell lies today, and will tell lies tomorrow. They'd lose their audience if they didn't.

Murdoch Acknowledges Fox News Hosts Endorsed Election Fraud Falsehoods

Rupert Murdoch, chairman of the conservative media empire that owns Fox News, acknowledged in a deposition that several hosts for his networks promoted the false narrative that the 2020 election was stolen from former President Donald J. Trump, and that he could have stopped them but didn’t, court documents released on Monday showed.

“They endorsed,” Mr. Murdoch said under oath in response to direct questions about the Fox hosts Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, Lou Dobbs and Maria Bartiromo, according to a legal filing by Dominion Voting Systems. “I would have liked us to be stronger in denouncing it in hindsight,” he added, while also disclosing that he was always dubious of Mr. Trump’s claims of widespread voter fraud.

Watch the proceedings on Rumble of the Arizona state investigation into the 2020 election. It's openly discussed that Dominion software was at least, compromised in the election.

BTW, kudos to Paul "Lyin" Ryan for trying to make Faux do the right thing as a member of its board. But asking Faux not to lie is like trying to get Exxon to stop selling oil.

Everything you need to know about Faux is told by the fact no one at Faux has been held to account for the lies it spread. Because, as I have said many times, lying is their business model.

and you are supporting your defense of Fox on a opinion video produced by Mike Lindell!

Fox is even admitting that they bought in and yet you are using Mike Lindell...couldn't you find anyone less biased.

The good thing about that is that, if it's too subtle, much of its audience is not bright enough to get it. This is why they have had to be overt. Much of their audience is not bright enough to understand subtleties.
He acknowledges but won't do ANYTHING about it. Which means he was pleased with it. It must have produced many billions in profits which he now needs to give back to Dominion and the others he slandered.

Thanks for the admission that Democrats have been election deniers for decades. By the way, just because there is a lawsuit against you doesn't mean you are going to lose. Dominion would have to prove damages. Do they actually have any damages? Can they prove a loss of business?

Actual damages would be much harder to assess with a $$ value. The Dominion and Smartmatic cases are actually easier to win but by no means are they a slam dunk given that Faux is cloaking itself in the 1st A.

It isn't remotely comparable. Dems never tried to steal the presidential election. Trumpists did.

Problem is that they would have to start by suing the originator of disinformation: Trump.

Historians will look at this period and wonder how it was possible that so many people, influenced by Fox, decided to believe "science" when it came from Donald Trump, and demonized actual scientists like Dr. Fauci for "daring" to correct their "Orange Prophet"

Rupert Murdoch admitted that Fox News lied to its loyal listeners.

A person with average intelligence knew all along that Fox was lying to its audience. The reverse is also true.

The Times reports, "Rupert Murdoch, chairman of the conservative media empire that owns Fox News, acknowledged in a deposition that several hosts for his networks promoted the false narrative that the election in 2020 was stolen from former President Donald J. Trump, court documents released on Monday showed.

"The people running the country’s most popular news network knew Mr. Trump’s claims of voter fraud during the 2020 election were false but broadcast them anyway."

So Murdoch admits FaUX lied, and the talking heads at FaUX knew they were lieing and the best the MAGA crowd can come up with is some of the lamest deflections since I got my first infraction on this site. Not even an , "Oops, we messed up", just more deflection and denial.

    Wow.
