I didnt even remember the housing bubble of the early 80s....where everyone had a house with a low interest rate for nothing down and no proof of income.....was that the CRAs fault then also?

what I dont see is this alternate reality where someone else is president and things went differently.

Fortunately, we didn't listen to those minority economists, and instead of two more years of contraction in 2010-2011, we had two years of growth.

so we started the recovery at 8% unemployment instead of 15%.....it doesnt mean the stimulus did nothing

I'll take the slow growth over the type of growth we had when Obama took office, thank you very much.

There weren't any recoveries during Clinton's Presidency because there were no recessions, so what the hell are you talking about?

More incoherent blather from Mello. You make Obama and the Democrats look like buffoons, not that they need much help...

I'm talking about Clinton's longest post war expansion, greatest number of jobs created, best stock market performance, lowest unemployment rate, lowest poverty levels, etc.

And this was after his big tax increase that our conservative friends told us would wreck the economy.

They were completely wrong then. One has to wonder just how many times people will believe them. There's an old saying in Tennessee ...

You don't see it because your head is in the sand. The Warding and Reagan recoveries are examples of successful recoveries, the Obama "recovery" is not.

And I'll take a rapid recovery with strong growth over Obama's snail-paced growth.

I was referring Mello to successful RECOVERIES. Maybe you missed it? Or is your reading comprehension failing you?

Contrarily, when the economy, including the stock market, is doing good, it's Obama's fault. When it's doing bad, it has nothing to do with Obama (Bush's fault!)

    I love left-wing hypocrisy.

Are we talking about Clinton or Obama? Seems strange to derail your own thread. Here's hoping that .1% makes up for this dismal performance.

I understand its important for you to rely on alternate reality....where we had massive housing collapses during every recession....and where someone else was president and the recession was fixed overnight

I've already supplied that. BLS.gov numbers are not right-wing, last time I checked.

They show how unemployment is still near 10%, 14.5% if you include those workers who work part time, but are in need of full time employment.

But, by all means, focus on U1 numbers like you did above, since they are the smallest numbers on that page that you can find.

Because it happened during at least two Presidencies, re: Harding and Reagan.

If Obama had been more pragmatic, like Clinton, maybe he could have ushered in a successful recovery, but he clung to his ideology, and now we are stagnating.

We had much worse than that in the early 80's. We had Carter inspired stagflation.

Again, what the hell are you talking about? You replied to his comment about economic recoveries after a recession with a fawning and romantic speech about Clinton. Since Clinton had no recession to worry about, I can't help but feel your reply was out of place, at best.
