Anyone of them stronger than the guy who will be running for the Democrats. All will get full support of the Republicans once nominated.

She got cancer after they were separated. It was a marriage that had been failing for years.

Here get your facts straight so you won't continue to post specious statements

    http://townhall.com/columnists/jackiegingrichcushman/2011/05/08/setting_the_record_straight

My father, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, has been in politics as long as I can remember.

And as long as I can remember, media coverage about him has contained misstatements of facts. The vast majority are simple mistakes that are easily corrected, understood and rewoven into an ongoing storyline.

But one of them seems to have taken on a life of its own, and simple corrections have not sufficed to set the record straight. Why does this happen? I can't be sure, but I suspect that the narrative created by these untruths proves to be so much more compelling and more dramatic than what actually happened that it proves irresistible.

I'm talking about the story of my father's visit to my mother while she was in the hospital in 1980.

For years, I have thought about trying to correct the untrue accounts of this hospital visit. After all, I was at the hospital with them, and saw and heard what happened. But I have always hesitated, as it was a private family matter and my mother is a very private person. In addition, for the four people involved, it was one of a million interactions and was not considered a defining event by any of us.

My mother and I have both recently run into quite a few people who hold an inaccurate understanding of this hospital visit. Many think my mother is dead.

So, to correct the record, here is what happened: My mother, Jackie Battley Gingrich, is very much alive, and often spends time with my family. I am lucky to have such a "Miracle Mom," as I titled her in a column this week.

As for my parents' divorce, I can remember when they told me.

It was the spring of 1980. I was 13 years old, and we were about to leave Fairfax, Va., and drive to Carrollton, Ga., for the summer. My parents told my sister and me that they were getting a divorce as our family of four sat around the kitchen table of our ranch home.

Soon afterward, my mom, sister and I got into our light-blue Chevrolet Impala and drove back to Carrollton.

Later that summer, Mom went to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta for surgery to remove a tumor. While she was there, Dad took my sister and me to see her.

It is this visit that has turned into the infamous hospital visit about which many untruths have been told. I won't repeat them. You can look them up online if you are interested in untruths. But here's what happened:

My mother and father were already in the process of getting a divorce, which she requested.

Dad took my sister and me to the hospital to see our mother.

She had undergone surgery the day before to remove a tumor.

    The tumor was benign.

First of all that is a lie, made up by the left.

Gingrich’s Deathbed Divorce? Not So says Daughter
The story of Newt Gingrich’s first divorce, reportedly beginning while his wife was on his deathbed, has taken on a life of its own in some circles. The problem? It’s not true. Gingrich’s daughter, Jackie Gingrich Cushman, set the record straight with a recent column she wrote at creators.com. Here’s the most relevant excerpt:

    Written in daughters book...

As for my parents’ divorce, I can remember when they told me.

I won’t repeat them. You can look them up online if you are interested in untruths. But here’s what happened:

My mother and father were already in the process of getting a divorce, which she requested.

Dad took my sister and me to the hospital to see our mother.

She had undergone surgery the day before to remove a tumor.

Bottom Line: The “Newt handed his wife divorce papers while she was dying with cancer…” meme is not true. One of the few people who saw this entire situation first hand said as much.

I'm just wondering why I should list the questionable things about Obama's past AGAIN...when you have never listened before. I am quite sure that you have seen it all...yet you ignored them. So, you are saying this time will be different? I'm not convinced. Why should I bother? I shouldn't.

Did a land deal with a felon for his Chicago house. Where is Rezco anyway??

"In 2005 Obama purchased a new home in the Kenwood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (which was $300,000 below the asking price but represented the highest offer on the property) on the same day that Rezko's wife, Rita Rezko, purchased the adjoining empty lot from the same sellers for the full asking price.[33] Obama acknowledged bringing his interest in the property to Rezko's attention,[34] but denied any coordination of offers. According to Obama, while the properties had originally been a single property, the previous owners decided to sell the land as two separate lots, but made it a condition of the sales that they be closed on the same date. Obama also stated that the properties had been on the market for months, that his offer was the best of two bids, and that Ms. Rezko's bid was matched by another offer, also of $625,000, so that she could not have purchased the property for less.[35]

After it had been reported in 2006 that Rezko was under federal investigation for influence-peddling, Obama purchased a 10 foot (3.0 m) wide strip of Ms. Rezko's property for $104,500, $60,000 above the assessed value.[7][33] According to Chicago Sun-Times columnist, Mark Brown, "Rezko definitely did Obama a favor by selling him the 10-foot strip of land, making his own parcel less attractive for development."[36] Obama acknowledges that the exchange may have created the appearance of impropriety, and stated "I consider this a mistake on my part and I regret it."[35]

On December 28, 2006, Ms. Rezko sold the property to a company owned by her husband's former business attorney. That sale of $575,000, combined with the earlier $104,500 sale to the Obamas, amounted to a net profit of $54,500 over her original purchase, less $14,000 for a fence along the property line and other expenses.[37][38] In October 2007, the new owners put the still vacant land up for sale again, this time for $1.5 million.[39]

In June 2007, the Sun-Times published a story about letters Obama had written in 1997 to city and state officials in support of a low-income senior citizen development project headed by Rezko and Davis. The project received more than $14 million in taxpayer funds, including $885,000 in development fees for Rezko and Davis. Of Obama's letters in support of the Cottage View Terrace apartments development, Obama spokesman Bill Burton said, "This wasn't done as a favor for anyone, it was done in the interests of the people in the community who have benefited from the project. I don't know that anyone specifically asked him to write this letter nine years ago. There was a consensus in the community about the positive impact the project would make and Obama supported it because it was going to help people in his district." Rezko's attorney responded that "Mr. Rezko never spoke with, nor sought a letter from, Senator Obama in connection with that project.[40]

In the South Carolina Democratic Party presidential debate on January 21, 2008, Senator Hillary Clinton said that Obama had been associated with Rezko, whom she referred to as a slum landlord.[41] The LA Times said that a review they did showed that Rezko played a deeper role in Obama's political and financial biography than Obama had acknowledged.[42] Within days of the debate, a photo of Rezko posing with Bill and Hillary Clinton surfaced. When asked about the photo, Hillary Clinton commented "I probably have taken hundreds of thousands of pictures. I wouldn’t know him if he walked in the door."

And he served her divorce papers while she was in the hospital. He also dumped his second wife shortly after it was discovered that she had MS back in 1999.

Its important to note that he cheated on both of them.

    Classy guy.

Thank you for the link from the White House's personal fact checking service (nothing corrupt about that)....lol.

I did know that Newt changed his mind about Paul's plan, I was referring to the fact that he changed his mind simply because of Fox news viewers. You can not prove that, because he never said that....so you fail.

Sentencing delayed — again — for Tony Rezko

    By NATASHA KORECKI Federal Courts Reporter / nkorecki@suntimes.com October 3, 2011 9:34AM

A federal judge in Chicago has again delayed the sentencing of convicted political fixer Tony Rezko, the onetime top adviser to and campaign fund-raiser for ousted former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve agreed Monday to a request by prosecutors to delay Rezko’s sentencing — which was most recently set for Oct. 21 — until Nov. 22 so the sentencing doesn’t interfere with the trial of Springfield businessman and longtime political power broker William Cellini.

Jury selection is beginning Monday for Cellini, who’s accused of trying, with Rezko, to shake down a former Chicago businessman who became a Hollywood producer, producing movies including “Million Dollar Baby” for a $1.5 million contribution to Blagojevich.

    Interesting comment:

"How would his sentencing in Amy St. Eve's court room interfere??? He was convicted 3.5 years ago and is being sentenced in a different court room by a different judge...and he isn't testifying..."

She was his high school math teacher and about 6 years his senior when they got married when he graduated from high school.

It was a marriage doomed from the start.

Buying a home from a guy with legal issues isn't in the same ballpark as a man who cheats on his wives and dumps them when they get sick.

For example, if the person your purchased a car from is eventually arrested by the feds for a crime, does that make YOU a bad person for buying a car from them?

Actually, a crooked politician is a far graver danger to our republic. If you were not so blinded by partisanship, you would see that the Rezko deals for gov't contracts was the beginning of the current scandals in Washington over Obama's funding of questionable energy companies involving donors.

    Myth

About as much credibility as the first.
Compared to what other Presidents of recent note have done and are still admired, yes he is. Marriages fall apart, it's a shame but it is reality.

The left will clearly be more interested in Newt's personal life, than Obama's actual ties to terrorists, criminals, marxists, radicals, fraud, Soros, Unions, Big HUGE business, Anti-American preachers, The black panthers, Islam, still unreleased documents, scrubbed thesis....well you get the picture.

Clearly whether or not Newt had sex while he was SEPERATED from his wife is wayyyyy more important.

Well, look at the field on the left, for god's sake, and wait for the mainstream media to go after him. His gaffes will be excused by the press corp branch of the campaign committee, his failures will become successes, his history will be sanitized again, and they will do everything possible, including of course lying, to get him elected.

The left has only one and he's a proven idiot. Actually, proving himself an idiot is all he's ever actually done.
