If a parent has gone through the best professional channels available and decides to help their child in certain ways, then the state/society shouldn't have much to say. Society can express its OPINION (1st Amendment right), but that doesn't necessarily justify interfering with any and everything that it does not approve of.

Is the child being abused or neglected? How is the child in danger? What is the parent doing that is harmful?

Just because you don't like the way someone allows their child to be does not make it wrong.

And by the way, this is not a new situation for the girl scouts. That have had other trans girls participate, the media just did not pounce on it in the past like they did this time.

    OK and if she hasn't?

Society also expresses it's "opinion" in the laws we create. And if it is a matter of a mother trying to satisfy her desire to have a daughter begins to engage in behaviors with her fatherless son that make him feel he is a girl then yes society has made provisions under the law to intercede on behalf of the child. Don't you think?

We just had a case where parents had named their child Adolf Hitler and were raising him as a nazi and the government stepped in under the laws that we as a society have created. Do you believe that was wrong?

Yes very possibly, if the mother is engaged in acts that are teaching this little he should act and believe he is a girl that would be a form of abuse and neglect of his needs as a little boy.
    Yes, mental danger.

You can't figure that out on your own?
I wouldn't like someone to teach their child to believe they are a pig, would it be wrong for them to do so?

DHR should step in immediately and do a total evaluation of the situation and the mental stability of the mother and the child.

    That's a no brainer.

Look, stop obsessing about this kind of stuff. It's not YOUR decision to control/make. Get over it.

This is odd to say the least. It's also inappropriate. The child and mother need some counseling.
I think this was a wrong decision on the part of the troop leader.

Has the national GS council weighed in on this?

I think you guys are busy-bodies. Stop making is a 'cause' in your lives. It is a private situation which needs to be handled in that way.

Let me put my philosophy out there.

As long as they are not beating them, (*)(*)(*)(*)ing them, or starving them I could not possibly care any less how parents raise their kids.

Busy bodies??? I'm not involved in the situation, nor will I be. I made a comment. No biggie - it's just another topic to discuss.

Can he/she use the same bathroom at the same time the girls are?

No, the child's interest needs to be protected.

Amazing how you guys on the left want to interfer between a child considering getting an abortion and the parent. Or a child thinking about engaging in sex and trying to get birth control, cut the parent out.

But here where a mother may be teaching her fatherless, even more defenseless son to behave as a girl in order to satisfy her desire to have a daughter and it's hands off, how dare we intercede here!

At the very least some professional evaluation, amazing that that is not blindingly clear to some here. Look at how quick DHS is to intercede in other cases.......this is a no brainer. Just watch the kid in the video.

What about when he is 15? Does he get to dress out with the girls and shower with them after PE?

You guys are discussing something that you probably wouldn't even be able to handle well, if it were CLOSE to you. In the case mentioned, you really don't know much; you can bet on that.

I'm certain that mother know her child infinitely better than anyone trying to make a call from here in this forum.

Yeah, you can discuss it, but you're just wasting your time.

    Later, Peace.

I just have boys, but if I did have a girl and she was in this Girl Scout troop with this boy, I'd remove her from the program.

At what age do you stop letting boys and girls see each other naked?

If I had a girl in that troop, there would be a big problem.

Beats the (*)(*)(*)(*) out of me, but I think the parents of the kids can sort that out.

Maybe the parents can put the boy, er, girl in a cage at night so it doesn't get out. That's the ticket.

What happens when the girl scouts go swimming, won't there be a bulge in the boys bikini?

I have no idea what that has to do with anything I said.

You seem preoccupied with telling these parents how they should raise their child. Would you like them to tell you how to raise yours?

There seems to be a preoccupation in your posts with this child's genitals. First the bathroom and now a bulge.

Do you realize how nasty that is? That this is your entire argument?
