    I don't know if you've ever actually met someone you consider part of the "right" before but most folks on "the right" actually agree with half of what you just said....

    Most right leaning folks are all for identifying and combating mental illness to combat mass shootings.....

    On a side note the one entrance/exit from schools thing is illegal via the fire code. You can't do that one.

    What are we going to do about the 200 million + unregistered firearms in the US? Sure we can make registration mandatory for all firearms purchased from here on out and require insurance but we have to also address the enormous elephant in the room in regards to the hundreds of millions of currently unregistered firearms here.

    Is that acceptable under the fire code? Not doubting you just asking, it's been a while since I've gotten my OSHA cert but I thought entrances to buildings couldn't be blocked either due to fire hazard in case people needed to get in the building as well as out.

    Could be wrong though, it's been a while.

    YEs, make getting registered retroactive as PAINLESS as possible. Make HARSH penalties, after IMPLORING adherence.

    I don't like it either, but it is a necessary evil. This all will still allow unlimited hunting and protection. Unless your enemy has an ILLEGAL ASSAULT rifle. But, don't try to tell me that banning them doesn't affect the ease of finding contraband, it most certainly does.

    My Mom's school is already doing it, to an unknown degree. You can have fire and rescue universal keys, to get in.
