I know it's a tendency for Trumpsters to just blurt out stuff without thinking it through, but they are talking about people who have been infected and recovered! They would have natural immunity and would be in the best position to provide at least basic care at the direction of a licensed doctor or nurse. I can't believe I have to spell this out.
so by your account, not one person has ever caught the flu or cold more than once... interesting... how many of those recovered folk end up being carriers that transmit to others...
With all due respect Trump can no more shat a doctor than you I can't believe you think you can wave a wand and covert an auto mechanic into a medical technician...
Are you just running some kind of act? Who the hell said anything about turning them into "medical technicians"? They would in essence be performing the same duties as any volunteer, or candy striper if you're stuck in the past. No one said anything about replacing the medical experience provided by a nurse or doctor. They would serve as an extension to that care. I don't even know why you're arguing this with me. Why do you like throwing these inane bombs into a thread? It sucks your credibility big time.
So you still think your going to create doctors nurses and Technicians out of thin air? It takes twelve years to make a doctor, 4 for an RN 2-4 for a medical technician. They're already spread thin. Spreading them thinner won't make it better and could well make it worse.
Yes, you're right. That is something for a policy change, but what does that have to do with using recovered coronavirus patients to be nurse's assistants? (or whatever you want to call them).
Over the years, new Flu strains enter the picture from time to time, and we never shut down the economy for that. Worldwide there are a billion people stricken each year with up to 650,000 deaths. Even so, hospitals are not overburdened, no emergency testing centers opened, no running to and fro for beds cots and ventilators. No 24/7 coverage by the media of each new person coming up positive for the flu virus. So what the heck is going on? Why can't we just practice good hygiene and self isolate like we do with the flu.
There needs to be nurses to assist and even nurses assistants these days is two years at a technical school and that's a calling as much or more than a job, the burn out rate is high in the profession.
