    No bill touched his desk -> he was not involved at that point -> there was nothing to fail.

    You just think that because he didn't step in and command the duly elected members of Congress to supplant their authority, not to mention the Constitution, and do "something" (presumably giving the Democrats their precious amnesty) that he somehow failed.

    For one, and again, The US President does not vote in the Senate.

    And for two, why the hell would DONALD TRUMP want to cave to a pack of anti-American Democrat scumbags who want to flood the nation with uneducated, unskilled, often violent, 3rd worlders?

    Trump's trying to MAGA ...and you're on his case because he doesn't do the things that would do the opposite.

    Do you think Republicans can promise a clean bill supporting DACA kids in the next few weeks?

    And, yes. You are right. DACA is more important that a lot of other issues.

    Schumer even tossed the Trump wall into the ring - a feature Democrats hate in trade for something that Republicans actually like!

    Of course illegals are more important than Americans. It’s the New Democrat platform.

    Schumer’s offer was based on democrats attaching DACA to a spending bill which is unpopular and going to backfire on democrats. They have 6 more weeks to work out DACA but of course democrats want the flow of illegals to continue so can’t be trusted to allow the end to chain migration or the lottery system which they would hold up just like they are holding up a spending bill.

    Oh, please. At least try to make sense.

    There is no "flow of illegals" at stake here.

    Nobody in America is interested in an open border policy - as proven by Obama, the first president of the modern era to stop the growth in the number of undocumented aliens.

    Pretending those are issues is just as ridiculous as suggesting Republicans will turn around in a matter of weeks and address DACA.

    That's a separate issue that can be dealt with once Democrats have come to their senses and allowed the government to reopen. When enough Dems will vote for a Clean CR with additional Children's Healthcare funding, why the government will resume operations.

    The Senate rejected a one-month spending bill early Saturday, triggering the shutdown of many government services and setting off a partisan fight over who would bear the political consequences.
