Do you think an person that has never seen a gun is going to be scared of it? Of course we used it in WWII, and that use PROTECTED our soldiers from years of island hoping then fighting through the mainland Japan. Intimidation is still a form of defence. Even offense is a form of defense. We didn't physically attack the USSR cause of their defensive nukes. They didn't attack us for the same reason

Yep, Laws are only good against the good citizens who follow them. Gun laws will do nothing to address violent crime.

Anyone who would do something illegal...like murder for instance, which is also illegal...doesn't give 2 (*)(*)(*)(*)s about a gun law. People already choosing to do illegal things will continue to pick up illegal guns.

The only one who will be inconvenienced, are those who would follow the laws...the people you dont need to worry about anyway.

Accidents are not violent crime which is always the center of gun control debates.

Good post Rich. I just don't understand their opposition to gun ownership. If they know criminals and those who would do them harm already get weapons, what is the main argument against those who obey the laws having them?

I don't know about you, but I would not be willing to take that chance.

 

As are guns. The protection of ones very life is more important than the conveneience of getting to the store or a job faster, as such the Firearm is more important than the Plane and Car. Just my opinion of course.

Also, just for kicks we have a right to bear arms explicitly written, however vehicles and other conveniences were never mentioned...so take that for what it's worth as well.

Not going to work here k995. If you dispute this, then tell me what the real reason for gun concern is, and be sure to back it up with some documentation. Society has decided there is too much gun crime, not me. This is exactly where the argument stems from.

Accident rates will happen, it's the ones who purposely use them for harm that we need to worry about. The same ones who wont give a rats ass about some new legislation or two.
