Why are Biblical scripture treated as a vague text?

Can you? If you claim you can, you're dishonest with us, if not also with yourself.

I asked you. Either you know or you don't. And if you don't(and I know you don't) on what basis are you suggesting that I am putting my own interpretation.

On the basis that you in fact don't know and can't know who authored the texts contained in the Bible.

On the basis of the fact that if you knew you would not say what you said on #0.

Keeping yelling "Jesus" every 15 minutes. That'll save you.

You haven't made the case that the bible isn't interpreted differently by different people. You are simply making the case that your reading of it is the correct one, which simply establishes the OP premise that it is prone to different understandings.

I was never trying to do that in the first place. What I have said many times is that the Bible interpret itself if those who love to give their own interpretation would only just shut up and listen.

    LOL!!!
And if they do, they will come to the conclusion you do, because you approach it perfectly.
At least your myopic arrogance is total. I admire your commitment.

Exactly, that is why we need guidance from the Church that Christ established, so we do not error in our interpretations.

It is implied that infants were baptised whole areas were baptised and whole households. Children were circumcised in the old testament to identify them as part of God's people, what did they know of that?.

Jesus quite clearly states it was His body in the form of bread. So you are doing exactly the same thing every other Protestant does and putting your own spin on the interpretation of the Bible.

Our faith coincides with our deeds, if one truly believe then they will act accordingly. Someone however can lose salvation if somebody loses faith, some Protestants believe once saved always saved.

All my responses are supported by the Bible and are of my opinion because the Bible and the Church says so. It is strange you say your repsonse is in accordance with the Bible but not your opinion, do you disagree with the Bible?.

I find this comment offensive, as a Catholic I have as much right to believe what I believe as you do what you believe. I think the vast majority of people would be more inclined to say what you believe is nonesense, there is over a billion Catholics in the world the largest religion in the world.
However I do not think what you believe is nonesense, I believe you are misguided and have been taught error, but I do not call anyone elses beliefs nonesense.
Why the constant attack on Catholics many Protestant churches differ from your theology more than the Catholic Church. The reason is they know they are insignificant seperatrely so they do not attack each other, they put all their energy into villifying the one true Church.

Even though the wyrd of Gawd is being sarcastic in this post he/she makes some good points.
The devil has faith in God, the devil also knows Jesus died and rose again. Satan worshippers would accept this as true so we can surmise from this that faith alone does not mean salvation. When the Bible speaks of faith saving, it means faith in God as in relying on God, this would also mean your actions would be in accordance with this faith. You cannot say I believe and rely on Jesus as my saviour and steal from your neughbour, this would just mean your faith was insincere, you would not be saved.

Also it is stated in the Bible baptism is neccessary for salvation. So why would infants not be included, do some Protestants not want their children to be saved when it is quote clearly stated in the Bible it is neccessary. Being baptised endows you with grace from God, it includes you as being as one of God's people. There is no reason to set an age limit on it, people can choose to reject this later in life if they so choose. There is also something that we Catholics call baptism of the heart, which means in extreme circumstances when someone is unable to be baptised and dying and is really sorry for their sins they can gain what we call a baptism of the heart.

The other thing about Zaccheus and his family being saved was that they were at that moment, we can lose salvation. We can be in favour with God then through sin we can seperate ourselves from Him. When a household and family was baptised and their sins forgiven they were also gaining salvation, but this salvation can be lost. We are constantly being saved.

Also calling out to Jesus when we are in real despair we can call on the name of Jesus for help. Also like I stated earlier if someone is dying and truly repentive they can call on Jesus and gain baptism of the heart.

You can't believe and follow everything one hears in the Church or what the pastor says.......at the end of the day it is the Bible I listen to regardless of what the Church teaches. It is the Spirit that leads all those who Jesus said will hear His voice and follow Him only not a Church.

So you do not listen to what a pastor or anyone else says, you read the Bible and interpret it for yourself.
Is it not possible you could be wrong in how you interpret it?.
I mean if you have no outside influence and rely solely on yourself the bible and guidance from the Holy Spirit is it not possible you could get it wrong?.
What about all the other Protestants who make the same claim as you, but differ in your interpretation?.
Are they wrong?, or are you?.

Read the Bible myself? Yes!!! Interpret it myself? No!! The Bible gives it own interpretation. It is Jesus whom God's people are to follow not a man preaching from the pulpit. Too many are listing to what others are saying and not what Jesus says. Jesus prophesied that many would come in His name and deceive many.

What did Jesus ever say that's worth following?

Matthew 24:29 (CEB) = “Now immediately after the suffering of that time the sun will become dark, and the moon won’t give its light. The stars will fall from the sky and the planets and other heavenly bodies will be shaken."

We can discuss Other fictional characters like Tarzan, Zorro, Conan the Barbarian, or Jack and the Bean Stalk if you want.

Is there any historical evidence that the Israelites ever defeated the Assyrians?

I sure would not be hanging around in that forum though. You seem to have an obsession against the Bible and those who believe what it says. How is exercising our right have to do with you? Should others follow you around and bash you and what you believe just because they don't agree with what you believe?

You can believe that the stars will fall to Earth if you want to but it will never happen.

Revelation 6:13 (CEB) = The stars of the sky fell to the earth as a fig tree drops its fruit when shaken by a strong wind.

It's really easy for you to prove that your belief is more than a silly superstitious delusion.

All you have to do is this:

Luke 17:6 (CEV) = Jesus replied: If you had faith no bigger than a tiny mustard seed, you could tell this mulberry tree to pull itself up, roots and all, and to plant itself in the ocean. And it would!

You can say it to any tree that you own. Or you can do it to a bush or shrub. The authorities will get upset if you do it with mountains. They'll charge you with being a terrorist or diverting a stream if you do it with a mountain.

Matthew 21:21 (CEV) = But Jesus said to them, “If you have faith and don’t doubt, I promise that you can do what I did to this tree. And you will be able to do even more. You can tell this mountain to get up and jump into the sea, and it will.

But then Jesus never did move a mountain (or a tree) so I doubt you will be able to either. But maybe your faith is stronger than all of the other billions of believers put together was. It might work if you try. I saw a movie where some teens gained powers like that. People thought they were a nuisance and tried to kill them so be careful. They should have told the cops that they were doing as Jesus said they could do because they had faith larger than an orange. I'll be your PR man if you want.

So is the Bible infallible then?.

If you say yes, then those who composed the books in the Bible were infallible in their writtings, do you agree?.

If you say no then the Bible is open to error, that would mean what you believe could be in error, do you agree?.

Where those who decided what books that go into making the Bible infallible in their decision making?.

If you say yes then you would be saying the Church was infallible in deciding what books should make up the Bible, do you agree?.

If you say no then you are saying the books in the Bibel are open to error, do you agree?.

Please when answering do not simply answer yes and no, give an explaniation as to why you disagree or agree. I know you have a habit of running from difficult questions.

The thing is other Protestants are making the exact same claim as you and saying you are in error. They say the Bible interprets itself as well but they still come to a very different interpretation from you, why is that?.
You are saying they are being decieved, but they are making the exact same claim about you.
