Oh, what crap! First: no woman is obligated to use drugs or put foreign objects in her body. Second: It's idiotic to claim women who have abortions are promiscuous...and their rights shouldn't be affected even if they are. Third: it is VERY responsible to abort a fetus you either don't want or can't afford.
And what is to stop the woman from naming just any guy she feels like...whether he was the father or not? An ex-boss she hated? An ex-boyfriend who fooled around on her? And why should the guy pay a fine? What did he do wrong (assuming the sex was consensual)? IMO, this is not a well-thought out idea.
This might work IF he is first provided the option of raising the child himself. If he would prefer to keep the child but the mother wants to abort it, no fine.
So if she is responsible why didn't she use birth control? Does she all of a sudden just become responsible once she's pregnant? And of course she's not obligated but if she doesn't want to get pregnant they she probably should. Don't ya think?
Hmm...just one problem with your idea. What about those who are unable to identify the father? Would you rather the mother have to pay for it? That seems counter-productive. And, as others have stated, condoms aren’t 100% effective. There’s a 2% failure rate, so there would still be unwanted pregnancies. One thing I’m always shocked about with this debate is that pro-lifers care so much about these unborn fetuses, but once they’re born, they don’t give a s*** about them! If the parents can’t afford to raise a child, who cares? A lot of pro-lifers see it as the parents’ problem. Perhaps a more fitting name for these people is “anti-choice”? If they were all about pro-life, they’d want to make sure the child is thriving after their birth.
Provided the abortion was before there is brain activity (about 10-11 weeks)? I agree. After that? I don't.
OP fails to consider the fact that a good many abortions are performed for married couples who just can't see themselves supporting another child at the time or had a failure in birth control or - hey - let''s face it - married couples get spontaneous at times too. OP acts as if every woman who gets an abortion is some type of prostitute. OP wants to penalize married couples for having sex.

It's quite irresponsible to put stuff in your body because some stranger is meddling in your life and telling you to... NO, where did you get that idea !!! ...YOU seem to think a woman who gets pregnant and has kids is responsible when you have no proof they all are. Uh, WHO are you to determine what others should do? If a woman doesn't want drugs or foreign objects in her and gets pregnant she can have an abortion.
So you feel the fetus can be removed from the woman and grow on it's own at 11 weeks? No, it isn't viable until 23 weeks, the legal cut off.
Fines are a government imposed penalty for illegal activity. Having sex is not illegal, even when it produces a pregnancy, regardless of what decisions the woman makes. If you want government to support adoption financially, the means and method are already proscribed.
And this is why so many men think they can just "cop a feel" any time they want After all don't women just ask for it!!
how about this one, anyone that force a child or rape victim to have a baby goes on the sex offender list easy access to long term birth control is the best prevention of abortions btw, a miscarriage IS an abortion too, just natural vs medically induced
which is a good point, why if one parent doesn't want anything to do with the child, they pay child support, if both parents do not want anything to do with it, neither pays? should not the couple giving a child up for adoption support the child they brought into this world
Logically, they would both pay. For what? The abortion, any health expenses associated, and with their consciences the rest of their lives. It should not be an easy thing to do, killing a baby.
No it is not easy to terminate an unwanted pregnancy which is why women think long and hard over the choice. But they are no killing babies
