Trump's policies, or lack of same, appear both incompetent and even bizarre until you see they are based upon one thing . Trumps hates certain people, he wants to eliminate them from American society. He is convinced that all evil comes from these people and that once they are gone we will all be happier and much better off. Trump's followers agree, this is why he can do no wrong in their eyes, he hates the right people and this is all that matters to them

Only the carnage is purely imaginary. Economy is rocking, employment levels are much better than Obama's
ever were. There have been no REAL negative consequences even though h says stupid stuff sometimes.

No they don't. The current owners of the Republican Party believe that it's OK for majorities to subjugate minorities. It has nothing to do with intelligence. It has everything to do with "power"

And if you think that Republicans believe that blacks are their equal, why not start reading what they say? You might learn a lot about your own Party. If you still consider it your own, that is. If you really are part of the type of Republicans you claim, you will eventually realize that it's not.

Who said anything about "cable"? But I see what you're saying. So you don't inform yourself. How would you expect to know what Democrats think, then? What should we expect you to contribute to the discussions on this Forum?

If Democrats thought blacks were equal they wouldn’t support laws that give them benefits simply for breathing. People that are equal don’t ned a hand out or a hand up to compete. Funny how this attitude doesn’t come up in industries where black people are superior on average to other races. They don’t support an evening of the odds in those cases. Strange how that works :)

Oh, yes indeed, we've done all the wrong things for a century. Helped win two world wars, rebuilt Europe and Japan, created the most powerful economy in the world, spread democracy to over 100 nations, won the Cold War against Communism, became the world's only super-power, created powerful alliances to preserve democracy, and the list goes on. But hey, there's a bunch of disgruntled losers that think we really f-cked up so let's undo it all because they just know better than, well, everybody!

Found another defensive Complex denizen and their fallacies.

The power grab of the federal government that began in the early 20th century (really back to Lincoln), especially in the Executive Branch, and accelerated in the extreme starting at the end of the 1960s had no-thing... nada...to do with those things. The bureaucratic bloat, greedy public unions and hyperregulations that are the hallmarks of corrupt Washington today had nothing to do with those things either.

One major piece of legislation in a year, and that is not carnage?

That legislation, tax reform, may come back to haunt the Republicans. A budget should have been approved four months ago! Health insurance, infrastructure, military funding, border security, all represent the carnage of the first year of Trump's government. Some wonder if the Republicans are capable of governing. So far, there record says no.

On his first anniversary, his government is shut down. There will be a celebration at Mar-a-Lago without him because of it.

He is the most unpopular first year President in American history. Abroad his unpopularity is even worse.

Trump has very little to do with the economy. Wall Street likes the Republicans being in charge. Want proof? The stock market took off 2 1/2 months before Trump took office. Last week the White House was in turmoil over Trump's racist remarks and the looming government shutdown. The stock market set a record every day last week.

Wow! Take your blinkers off. Look around.

What laws are these that give blacks benefits for breathing and that other races can't get as well?

    That's not a rhetorical question, I'll wait....

Old people don't know how powerful a Twitter account is for staying informed about the world around them.

I also have some of my favorite independent podcasts and YouTube channels that I enjoy.

Frum as per usual is wrong. If you really want to see what's going on look at the so-called women's march, and note how the Trump presidency has reduced much of the left to a headless baying zombie loudly wheezing at the moon through their collective windpipes in search of anything that looks like effective leadership.

Ah... you make the typical mistake that racists love to push: confusing "equality" with "equal opportunity".

Being equal doesn't mean they have equal opportunity. Some minorities start off with a social and economic disadvantage Anybody who cares to look at our history understands where this disadvantage comes from: slavery, racism, intolerance.... If we are to follow the Constitution of the United States, then we do what we can to secure they too enjoy the Blessings of Liberty to them and their Posterity.

I fully expect that, after the American electorate registers its repugnance for Trumpery in November, real Republicans will develop backbones as a matter of self-interest and survival.

"There is plenty of evidence that Mr. Trump is a con man, a fake ...
Here's what I know: Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud. His promises
are as worthless as a degree from Trump University.
He's playing the American public for suckers:
He gets a free ride to the White House and
all we get is a lousy hat."

    No Trump in 2020.

You mean the institutions and agencies which ran the soft coup on him? I hope he can do more damage to these treasonous bastards than they can do to him. But he must be careful, for Schumer told us and trump that he better be careful for the CIA can get him 6 ways from Sunday. SO, apparently the author of the article, side with a CIA that operates many times above our constitution and congress nor the presidents in the past have done a damn thing about that power held by non elected officials.

    Doctor Golem knows!

Gimmee a break - equal opportunity is out there for those who are willing to work hard and sacrifice. I won't argue that legal immigrants are hard working - but they don't want to sacrifice that old country culture to become more American and able to compete at the higher pay levels. However, their children are Americans and can compete. As far as the American black culture is concerned - I believe they have a cultural anti-establishment bias that keeps them on the Democrat plantation.

Of course - typical of most Americans like me - I believe it is incumbent upon us to ensure a level playing field - then it's up to everyone else to succeed or fail on their own.
