Physically, life begins when the fetus is capable of self-sustained life outside the womb. But no fetus or baby is alive until the soul enters the body, for much of what a new life is, comes from the soul, and the soul is free to enter the body anytime during gestation--even while the fetus exits the mother during birth. It's a complicated, complex process--not a simple one like most conservative, religious persons believe.

Learn the difference between a criminal, who should be executed, and an innocent baby.

By that faulty reasoning many elderly or handicapped persons should be killed, right?

How in the world do you make such an inhumane conclusion from what I posted? That conclusion came from within YOU not me!!!! I would never even think of such a thing as you suggest. Ugh!

I have a problem with "murder" in ANY capacity. I support abortion rights as stated and restricted by the Roe vs Wade decision. I don't support abortion once the fetus is viable. But before that, it's the choice of the mother, because I also believe in individual freedom. And those individual freedoms are every bit as valuable as a human life. Otherwise, we dishonor every military death given in its defense.

All Infants, babies, and people are born....we have different words for things unborn...Zygote, Embryo, and Fetus among them. Playing your little emotional game is old and pathetic...as is the Murder card.

A major league assertion if I ever heard one!?

You wouldn't happen to be one of the two exceptionally well informed posters on this forum who chose the option:

Seemingly a strange statement coming from the man who also wrote:

Dennis...While I understand your mind and intellect work in very unique ways, I would have hoped you understood the context of that debate as I was playing the "Pro-Life" person in a reverse debate and my arguments were more a matter of skilled debate technique than solid data.

Good question....... I will have to do some research to answer that......... our Social Safety net would tend to help some expectant mothers to be less worried about the costs of having their baby........ and being able to get an education while raising their baby?!

I do believe that we in the US could make it significantly easier for women to have confidence in outcomes other than abortion.

On this I totally agree with you.........
and although discussions on these forums may seem like they are
viewed by a relatively small audience.........
I do believe that you are going to notice something unusual about this discussion..........
the number of Recommendations that it is going to receive on Facebook:

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...ump-quite-libertarian.544916/#post-1069828969

Only four so far in two days.......
but over the next two weeks I am expecting that that number will surge......

I have a diabolical plan to put an impressive case in front of Trump supporters that it is theoretically possible for the USA economy to be far, far, far, far , far more "Progressive."

I'd caution you to name it wisely.

If you hand something to Trump that has anything remotely "Progressive" about it, he's not going to bother to have one of his guys read it for him.

    OK, but that's Facebook.

I do believe Oprah would be for real.

A valid VP candidate for her would be someone who had serious credentials at DoS or something.

I deleted the rest of your post as it is all based on the same fallacy - the assumption (assumed premise) that "another" actually exists.

I just don't even see this as the issue. We ALL want fewer abortions.

The question is how to go about it.

    Let's do some looking:
    - Canada does not take the legal approach, allowing and paying for abortions through their health care system. Do they have more abortions than we do?

Freedom of choice is the very foundation of the issue. Freedom to have an abortion and freedom to not pay for someone else's.

Many view it as an amoral activity (to put it lightly). I will not support morality based law, which is what restricting abortion would be. But neither will I support forcing those who (like me) view it as wrong to participate in it by funding it.

    Yeah. Sure.

I don't like our military slaughtering Iraqis or promoting the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, either.

My bet is that you and I aren't going to get to have a line item veto on our tax contributions.

What matters most is that we don't dehumanize human beings before, or after, they are no longer persons having intellectual, emotional and volitional abilities. It is as integral to our humanity that we not dehumanize those of us who have not yet acquired intellectual, emotional and/or volitional abilities as it is that we not dehumanize those who have lost their intellectual, emotional and/or volitional abilities.
If we are justified killing those who are human beings, but not yet, or no longer, persons,
what are the intellectual, emotional and volitional standards below which human beings can be justifiably killed? And, who sets those standards?
Addiction addles volition, intellect and emotion. Can addicts be justifiably killed?
Dementia addles volition, intellect and emotion. Can the demented be justifiably killed?
Suffering addles volition, intellect and emotion. Can the suffering be justifiably killed?
    Is the standard corporeal?
If it is, what is the standard below which living human flesh can be killed?
A finger is not a person. Can a finger be justifiably killed? How about a leg?
What portion of one is another justified killing?

Don't get me wrong. I do believe that there is a time to kill; and by that, I mean kill human beings. The question then becomes, do we kill good people, bad people, those who are not yet people and/or those who are no longer people?
