They are not "art deals" they are money laundering. But due to the dual justice system, DoDJ won't lay a glove on them.
And regarding the subpoena, democrats have set new standards for showman ship when delivering subpoenas to conservatives. This guy will get a ride in Joe's limo with Gorsuch driving.

He is a private citizen. Why is congress spending time looking into the business dealings of a private citizen?

0092, member: 67512"]There’s wanting to remain anonymous and there’s defying a congressional subpoena. Plus remaining anonymous is not the reason the art dealer gave, he said he was following a White House rule and you can smell that BS through your computer screen. I wonder who is paying for the art dealer’s lawyer?[/QUOTE]

Subpoenas are not taken seriously anymore, you should know that by now.
Hopefully how the lawyer (s) representing the Gallery owner is being paid was taken right out of Trump's playbook.

I don't think it's very ethical for someone who in reality is certainly no artist to be collecting a half a million dollars for each piece of chicken scratch.

Because it's obvious to anyone with good sense that what the person is really buying is favor with his father because no one's going to pay a half a million dollars for some paint blown through a cocaine straw onto a piece of paper

Now surely I didn't just hear you engaging in whataboutism..... Not you of all people because I remember you chastising someone for the very same thing just the other day.

And this time you didn't even pretend to try to be on topic. How do you feel about Hunter Biden selling influence to his father?

I think you're lost in the wrong thread because this one is not about Trump.

This one is about the president's junkie son being paid ridiculous amounts of money for chicken scratch masquerading as art

I found his art to be quiet good, though a bit cliche

It's adorable to see the reds upset that someone is pissing on their subpoenas, especially after they absolutely supported this during the January 6th committee hearings. LOL

So you think I'm wrong and any real art collector has any interest in any of his work?

I've got the deed to some oceanfront property here in Arizona that I would like to see if you're interested in?

Do you actually believe people are paying up to a half a million dollars because they think he's a good artist?

Haven't some Picasso or Van Gogh painting sold for less?

Whatever he was you can't say that Hunter is not a serious artist...

We would have to look at the time and the place and the individual paintings, their size, importance etc.

Even if his paintings sell for a bit more because he is Hunter Biden this doesn't necessarily mean corruption.. ..

It would be interesting if he branched out a bit into installation and mixed media/collaboration.

The reality is one can be a reprehensible person and a damn good artist,
    Hunter gets both boxes checked.

I think it is good, but there seems to be no particular style consistency, rather just a sampling of existing genres. I think if he focused on one per collection, it would evolve.

Agreed. Conceptually he's a bit weak. I don't think he has tapped into a deep issue or something really personal yet.

Well what you do is you draw a bit of stuff and then you fold the paper in half. It's a neat trick.

If you're comparing the productive effort to do this vs one of Hunter biden's paintings I think you're out in a limb here.

They could also buy it because he was made semi-famous by republicans. People by junk all the time simply because it was once owned by someone famous.
