Wait, wait, wait. Now you want all the CHURCHES to have their own CURRENCY?

And if your employer is a Seventh Day Adventist, you'll have to convert before you can buy any food, at whatever price they want to charge? (And god help you if you drink or smoke)

Well, I guess if you voted for a guy who thinks capri-length underwear acts as body armor....and dogs should travel on top of the car.

Personally, I think this board is being invaded by insane religious fanatics, or is that just the general state of the Republican Party since 2000?

I'm Canadian so I have never voted Republican. We have three major political parties up here and I have cast my ballot for candidates from all three of those parties and in 2008 I voted for Green Party Leader Ms. Elizabeth May so I have actually voted for four different parties over the years.

The Churches are going to have to get used to what could be termed "Cyrus Consciousness" which I understand to mean a major increase in their respect for other churches..... and even for completely different religions.......... Near death experience accounts are having a major transformative effect on many Christian churches over these past three decades since Oprah made them common knowledge.

Near death experiencer Dannion Brinkley was shown Jordan and Israel combining themselves into one nation.

This is indeed something that should be worth considering........... and an exceptionally insightful bookley by R. M. could play a role in helping them to come together:

    http://www.politicalforum.com/political-opinions-beliefs/322565-gods-peace-plan-holy-land.html
God's Peace Plan for the Holy Land
I read this intriguing plan for peace in the Middle East twice already! It is about fifty pages and well worth your time to consider!

    http://www.godspeaceplan.org/

(Scroll down to the link: Click Here to Download Your Copy of the Peace Plan).........

    ......

    ........Dannion Brinkley:
......................"Boxes four and five were scenes from the Middle East, showing how this area of eternal strife would reach a boiling point. Religion would play a large role in these problems, as would the economy. A constant need for outside money fueled much of the anger and hatred that I saw in these boxes. In the first of these boxes I saw two agreements taking place. In the first, Israelis and Arabs were agreeing to something, but what was unclear to me.The second accord was one that I could see in some detail. Men were shaking hands and there was much talk about a new country. Then I saw a collage of images: the River Jordan, a settlement from Israel that was spreading into Jordan, and a map on which the country of Jordan was changing color.

As I watched this puzzling collage unfold, I heard a Being speak telepathically to me and say that the country of Jordan would exist no more. I did not hear the name of the new country."

But perhaps the whole thing was to set up President Obama's brother to do one of the most significant things that I have seen done by any political leader in the recent past??????!!!!

No, I don't think he would be successful. I found him to have a very dull personality and speaking voice, and he can't really improve that much from 2012. There are plenty of GOP candidates that could be far more charismatic.

I don't think I would support a state currency. Separate currencies in society make economics and travel more difficult. I'd prefer we move in the direction of an international currency rather than a state currency.

A lot of people feel the same way........ an international currency is what many people want...… This will eventually be possible but for the short term we need to figure out some way to reduce the pan and suffering that would probably be caused by a perhaps serious devaluation of the USA dollar.

The creation of a Utah State dollar or perhaps…. volunteerism hour….. could transform the economic formula for Obamacare within a couple of years.

Many people would accuse Mitt of being too in love with Israel and with the role of the Jewish people in history….. those same people could accuse me of the same thing……..

If there are far far far higher intelligences in the universe than we humans….. and if those intelligences want the Jerusalem Third Temple constructed and in use by the year 2030… then a Romney Presidency could be just want is needed at this time………

I must admit though…. President Obama's brother really really really really impressed me…..

    Poutine was invented in Quebec!

In theory… the province of Quebec could also play a significant role in improving the world economic situation.

    http://www.forumforpages.com/facebo...om-threat-of-rising-ocean-levels/1654902478/0

Proposal for the creation of a Quebec provincial currency unit to save coastal communities from threat of rising ocean levels.

....and to set the stage for a Nova Scotia provincial currency unit.....
.....because once the province of Quebec sets the precedent then it will be so much easier for my province to do essentially the same thing!

In my opinion it is going to cost trillions of dollars to do what needs to be done to protect towns like Truro, and Antigonish, Nova Scotia from the consequences of the cracking and sliding of a large part of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet and the land based Greenland Ice Pack into the ocean.

The province of Alberta attempted to create its own provincial currency unit during The Great Depression but enormous pressure was exerted to ensure that their experiment in monetary policy was unsuccessful.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alberta_Social_Credit_Party

The province of Quebec seems to be in much better position to create its own provincial currency unit without facing the massive backlash from the financial community and federal government that Alberta experienced.
Dr. James Hansen has stated that the last time that global temperatures rose by three degrees ocean levels rose by 25 meters over four centuries. Canada and the world are NOT yet prepared for ocean rise of one meter every twenty years.

Nearly one hundred million people in Bangladesh alone will become climate change refugees in the event of merely a one meter rise in ocean levels!

While I'm a liberal, I can not say I was opposed to many things Romney said. Raising the minimum wage was among the many things that led me to believe he was a closet liberal. I don't think he should run again, but he should certainly persist as a politician.

Sure he could. He could make the common sensical claim that a program designed to serve a couple million people is not appropriate for hundreds of millions of people. Besides, there are many issues involved in campaigning. As we have seen, our current president has made a mess of several things.

If he wants to run again, that's his concern.

Yes…… after watching the documentary "Mitt" last week my impression that he is a closet Liberal was partly verified.

I regard him as the most intelligent if not even most wise Presidential candidate that the G. O. P. have put forward in a long time…………Perhaps in a very long time!

I think we will soon reach (if we haven't already reached...) the point where we will re-assess our collective opinion of Mitt Romney such that we will, mostly all of of us, respect and revere Mitt Romney the way Americans came to re-assess our collective opinion of Harry Truman, who had left the White House and Washington, D.C. a solitary, unheralded figure on a train to Independence, MO.

Too bad he died before the exhumation and rehabilitation of his rep.

And the melancholy for Mitt will be brought on by the same illness which made us long for the days of late 1940's and early '50's America by the disco frenzied folks of the late 1970's. It will have been brought on by crummy leadership in the White House.

In 1975 it was Jimmy Carter.

Today it's the cool (Kenyan) Hawaiian.

Anyway, here's a treat for you.

This is the first of several parts of the complete Oscar nominated film of the Tony nominated one man stage play, "Give em Hell, Harry!".

    http://youtu.be/C4WnpgAzvpY

If you look at electing a POTUS the same way you would look at hiring a roofer you would check the guy's references, look at his past work and then see how well you liked him or not.

Well, by that measure Mitt and Harry Truman have something in common, they were better than we knew.

And in the case of Mitt, he was better than we deserved.

Enjoy this bit of what is a rarer example of good old American common sense.

    FACT:

Under Mitt Romney, the Massachusetts economy ran 47th out of 50 states during his four years in office, despite Romney campaign ads that he ran in 2012, suggesting that he had the best record on jobs as compared to his predecessor and successor.

    FACT:

Mitt Romney, as governor of Massachusetts, did not raise personal income taxes in four years. However, he effectively raised a "tax" in Massachusians into the hundreds of millions of dollars - defacto taxes. Romney also quintupled the per gallon delivery fee for gasoline on Massachusians. In the very first year of Romney's first term in office, he raised government fees more than $400 million. When Romney cut aid to local municipalities by over $200 million so that he could make his claim that he never raised personal income taxes, those same Cities and Counties turned around and raised fees on Massachusians yet again, to cover the cost of things like Police, Fire and EMT services to its Citizens.

    QUESTIONS GALORE ABOUND:

Exactly which Mitt Romney, will show-up in the 2016 election cycle? Will it be the Mitt, who believes that a Woman has the right to chose, or will it be the Mitt who does not believe in abortion? Will it be the Mitt who wants to Privatize Social Security? Or, will it be the Mitt who swears that he'll never turn Social Security over to Wall Street? Which Mitt makes it through the primaries:

I like Mitt, too. But, that does not mean that I like his as President of the United States of America, because he contradicts himself to fit the audience that he's speaking to in the moment:

Depending on the "audience" - he will morph right before your eyes:

Even considering that all this is true...what works for a small region like Massachusetts might not work for something like the US in it's entire. It's almost as insane a proposition as saying, "I ran my oil company well. I can run the nation as well."

Also, it gives me the shudders to believe that a man would occupy the POTUS with the concept that the nation should be run like a business (though, I suspect, that has been happening for a while).

In my opinion, we simply cannot afford to run a candidate without the ability to excite the base and get out the vote...Romney does not excite ANYONE, and is the equivilent of handing the Whitehouse over to Dems again.

That we would even consider him is a very bad sign....basically we got nothin' right now.

Well………….. at least Mitt is clearly very pro-Israel and if he does toss his hat in the ring… this could fit in nicely with my hopes that perhaps P. M. Stephen Harper may attempt to assist Jordan and Israel negotiate a peace deal even before the Canadian 2015 federal election?!

…..Pray that P. M. Stephen Harper initiate a peace deal between Jordan and Israel?
    .christianforums.com/t7829264/

I am a member of a different Canadian political party but……… I have to admit that P. M. Stephen Harper is for good reason regarded as a rather "Davidic" figure by a high percentage of Israelis.

What he did for Israel back in 2011 at the G-8 was one of the most courageous and wise acts by a political leader that I have seen since I began to watch world events back in the '70's!

It is also interesting that there are 143,000 acres of productive farmland along the Bay of Fundy between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick that is protected by dikes.

This land may be the most vulnerable in the world to the threat of rising ocean levels because the Fundy has a funnelling effect on tidal waters.

In my part of Nova Scotia the difference beteen low tide to high tide is only about one meter but along parts of the Fay of Fundy, especially near Truro and Moncton…. the difference can be between FIFTEEN TO SEVENTEEN METERS! The Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the entire world.

Would a one foot (30 cm) rise in average ocean levels lead to a 4.5 meter rise in high tide levels along parts of the Bay of Fundy? 30 cm x 15 = 450 cm/4.5 meters/13 feet.

A New Mexico biologist has a response to climate change that may agree with what predicted by Isaiah…. and his theory has major advantages over a carbon tax or cap and trade system!

    P. M. Stephen Harper could be extremely interested in assisting with a peace initiative between Jordan and Israel that focused on turning the deserts of Jordan green…….. because every cubic meter of ocean water that was desalinated and added to the water table of Jordan….. would not end up on top of those 143,000 acres along the Bay of Fundy!

As you can see from this website…. this type of solution is possible…...

Why is being pro-Israel a plus, or a qualifier?

If the arbiter of negotiations between two sides is favorable to one, the chances of a fair deal between both diminish. Israel has enjoyed near-total support of the US.

I would have to see the fine print of such a proposition. Such things are often advertised as humanitarian and benevolent, but the fine print will reveal things like "they never asked the people on that land their permission, or the majority of the public (not the government) are against such a thing, etc. Could be or couldn't be, but I'd have to see more than their sales pitch.
