If you could add a 5th face to Mount Rushmore, who would it be?

I'd put Barack Obama on it just for the pleasure of thinking how many conservatives would go apoplectic every time they saw it. ;)

By public opinion, he runs with the best of them. He and FDR are two figures who are broadly liked by the public.

    Toilet paper is more appropriate.

The faces on Mt. Rushmore will last for an estimated 7 million years.
I think we've got some time to decide who deserves to go up there next...in my estimation they haven't even been born yet.

An interesting number. The Sphinx is about 4500 years old and decidedly weathered. Various histories cite that the face may have been damaged by warfare, but that hasn't been confirmed.

Toilet paper would be the best place for Holder's face and Obama's too.

Maybe not. They might offend my hemorrhoids and
    I don't need antagonized hemorrhoids.

Keep in mind this estimation of how long Mt. Rushmore will last means that it would take 7 million years for the last traces of the faces to disappear...not merely to start showing decay.

The Sphinx is limestone, Mt. Rushmore is granite.

The Mohs scale is used to determine a rock or mineral's hardness. 1 being the softest and 10 being the hardest.

Limestone is a 3 or 4 on the Mohs scale.

    Granite will outlast Limestone.

Off-topic...I've seen the Sphinx in person

It should be remembered that the pols' mugs on the defaced rock were chosen by Borglum and Cal Coolidge. The public had no say.

FDR would be the overwhelming choice for a 5th, and would probably be picked over TR by both historians and the public if the caper were just being hatched now.

None of them, since none truly belong there, IF there is ever another added they have not served yet.

There's a story behind this photo worthy of Maury Povich I'm sure.

I like to take goofy pictures of the Grandkids during their 4th of July visit. Next year we're going to be pirates.

What surprised my step son the most was that I had 3 rifles with bayonets. (Yugo m48 (mauser), Mosin-Nagant, SKS)

They're nice additions for collectible weapons. A WWII helmet would be a nice addition too.

    You're a pilot if I remember correctly.

Get on with RAP approach and they'll give you vectors...ask for "vectors of the heads."
The "heads" are 20 DME off the 242 degree radial from the Rapid City VOR (RAP). You can go lower VFR than on an IFR clearance. To play by the rules you'll remain 2,000 feet AGL.

Are you including in "black" anyone who isn't Northern European?
