If you could add a 5th face to Mount Rushmore, who would it be?

If you are referring to Egyptians, they do not consider themselves Black as a people. Weirdly . . . they tend to consider themselves to be Arabian by ancient bloodlines.

 

I've been thinking about that for a long time and the answer was right in front of me all along. Barack Hussein Obama, of course.

 

Racially, they're Caucasians, not Negroes, even though there are certainly racist asshats who use a sheet of white paper to determine racial purity and polar opposite asshats who use to the same sheet of paper to determine "white devils".

 

I always figure that it's up to a people and a person to decide for themselves who or what they are. I was born into a very poor family in the far south and my skin is quite brown. I decided to simply be a U.S. citizen. I will not define myself by my skin tone or my impoverished childhood, which included some very bad things.

On the other hand I do understand that all too many people define themselves -- the very nature of their humanity -- according to melanin count or what are considered racial or ethnic facial structures. I think that's sad, but their life is what it is. Anyway If the average Egyptian wants to define himself or herself as descended from Arabian ancestors . . . so be it . . .

 

Agreed, it's their choice, but like you, I think the smarter people see past the melanin count and see the heart of the individual.

 

That's certainly an admirable goal in my book. As for myself I certainly try like hell to make it so.
