What a brilliant analysis. I wasn't about to debunk an anecdotal instance presented as tho there is rampant fraud and massive dependencies in an effort to demonize those taking advantage of the social safety net asit was designed. Instead, I thought I'd present some actual facts about both faud in the system and "dependancy". Seems the right thinks "dependency" is equivalent to welfare queens. You really think that debunking anecdotal instances is productive. In every large scale system there is waste, error and fraud. I notice nobody onthe right raises the issue of cheating on ones income taxes. They dont seem to mind the billions wasted by the DOD. But somehow, these structural problems that are found in EVERY bureaucratic system ever devised by man, are used as the reason social programs should be cut. I'd be more than happy to discuss the intellectual laziness and/or dishonesty that prevades partisan entrenchment.
A couple hundred bucks a month to feed 7 kids is a pretty pathetic amount. The kids are presumably all Americans. Her status doesn't bother me so much. It is the price we pay for having a xenophobic immigration policy, especially toward places that are less than white.
Still waiting on a conservative to explain this nonsense about a "free pass". Some people want to ignore that they are here to stay and that we have no way to track what they do. How do we get them to be part of the statistics if we keep them underground? How do we find the companies abusing the illegals and rejecting legal workers for these jobs? You can penalize illegals with fines which will allow us to track them. Threatening them with deportation will keep them underground. It is a matter of better economics and statistics if we know who they are and what they do. Why would businesses be backing immigration reform if they didn't think it would be better for their businesses?
I do know that the 7 kids are citizens. How much of the government spending is for them? This whole thread is stupid because one anecdotal piece of evidence means nothing. But the right wingers use it to make wild accusations.
when it comes to hospitals, in the process of auditing financial records. For NGO's, they are on the web site.
LMAO "Find themselves between citizenship". LOL WTF? You think they woke up one morning and went "damn, how did that happen? Why am I in Arizona? How did I get to be between citizenship?" This is PRECIOUSLY whats wrong with the liberal agenda. Completely lack of accountability and responsibility as it serves your agenda. When people earn money, they "got" it instead of earned it. When people illegal cross a board, they "find" themselves between citizenship. What absolute and completely utter BS. American's aren't buying the non-sense anymore. I am sure there are a few more strawman fallacies you could toss out to avoid holding this women responsible like most rational people do.
Yet they were counted in the census. Have IRS follow Immigration Law as well vs choosing their own policies about it. They pretty much know who is illegal and who is not and have their addresses. You haven't show that we don't know who they are, you've used talking points so far. Business immigration reform consists of more "legal" workers.
So its acceptable to make judgements on her situation when those judgements lead to support, empathy, and alignment with your perspective. As soon as somebody wishes to install personal responsibility, accountability, and repercussion... then its off limits. Got it.
So by stating that there needs to be more information before we do pass judgement is being empathetic?
I don't agree with that either. We have a path to citizenship already. It works for other nationalities why not Latinos? Please explain. I'll wait
Still avoiding the topic and redirecting. - - - Updated - - - At the point that it has been showed that she is receiving aid, illegally in this country, for 20 years, has no job, seven kids, and no father... what information do you think is missing from drawing the conclusion we have?
I don't work for the feds, but work with people on some of their programs. Anyway, have you been a good Neo-Com and signed up for Obamacare?
Here's yet another instance of illegals collecting food stamps in Florida http://toprightnews.com/?p=994 Hopefully the money is confiscated and they all get deported.
An even more insightful response. You really should look up the definition of ideological. It would also appear as tho you can't quite grasp the concept that actual facts will always trump anecdotal generalizations. But no problem, it is quite apparent that deflection is all ya got.
It has not been proven that she received any illegal money. Could you give us your source that she did?
You work for the state. That is still being a government worker. If you dislike the poor, give up your government job.
Pardon your ignorance, but not everyone that works with people getting fed benes works for the feds, the state or a city or a county. People that own or rent Section 8 housing aren't gov workers. People who are doctors or medical workers usually aren't either. Nor are the food store workers that take SNAP cards, or college workers what work with fed student aid. And the list goes on.
You said "I WORK with people who get these entitlements almost every day." "The common traits of the welfare rats are that they are lazy and they lie, cheat and steal. Many of those who do "work" do so off the books so they don't have to pay taxes or get a cut from their freebies." How can you work with welfare people if you are not part of the government?
I don't work with exculsively welfare people, but like the people on the previous list, I do work with people on their programs every day. It's pretty easy to tell most of the time who they even before they whip out their cards. There is a difference between the working poor and the trash that are entitlement seekers.
What a lot of dancing around you have done. You work for the government on programs for the poor, working or not working. You do not like many of these people. Like I said, get another job
