Oh suddenly you're outraged. Tough titty. The worm's turning. Enjoy living under the rules the Left has been applauding.

That's the thing about escalations. If you don't want none, don't start none.

THINGS ARE GETTING …. FUN: Tennessee Legislature May Expel Riot Leader Members.

    Obstructing The Legislature:

'When protestors took over the Tennessee Capitol and impeded state business, Democrats were at the forefront of the crowd, including three Democrats who got carried away and are now having to face the consequences.'

    From The Post Millennial:

'Reps. Gloria Johnson of Knoxville, Justin Jones of Nashville, and Justin Pearson of Memphis interrupted last Thursday’s legislative session by approaching the podium without being recognized to speak and using bullhorns to share their message. The trio also led protestors in the galleries in a series of chants. Resolutions calling for their expulsion were introduced Monday, with Republicans arguing that, they “did knowingly and intentionally bring disorder and dishonor to the House of Representatives through their individual and collective actions.”'

That is not a response to my questioning your post's blatant lie-- it went beyond even a gross mischaracterization. I hadn't been "outraged," but had only felt such a post was beneath this forum, and had thought that it might also have been beneath you.

The ending of your post does not really make sense. It sounds as if you think the Right is taking over control, from a previous Leftist system. If anything, it is the opposite which seems more true.

But I don't take that as a very sincere reply, either. Or, are you saying, if the GOP has their butts handed to them in 2024, you will then refrain from making false charges-- that you are only making them, because you believe the Right is on the rise, and about to become dominant? If that were the case, a reasonable person might ask why, then, would those on the Right, need to lie about it?

    And my "escalations" would be...?

    My indicting of Trump?

Sounds like you are the one, who's "outraged."

    1st Amendment:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people PEACEABLY to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

    You were saying?

They weren't peaceably assembling. Therefore, their insurrection isn't protected by the 1st Amendment.

Legislatures form under their own rules and shutting down proceedings with bull horns to interfere with a vote you are going to lose, if the Dem leadership doesn't discipline these clowns, looks like it will be subjected to an expulsion vote.

F*ck Tennessee.... they are expelling members for breaking rules.

Sanction? fine.... Brief Suspension? fine Reasonable Fine? fine

Expulsion under these circumstances is fascism.... Fascism is not unexpected from fascists, but it's rarely on display this obviously.

My family has had several decent vacations in neighboring Tennessee in the past, including a tour of the State House in Nashville, but we'll never set foot on that desecrated soil ever again.

Holy crap... The Tennessee House earlier voted to expel the first black representative, but FAILED to expel the white female representative....

Can anybody explain that to me? For what was reportedly the same rule violation?

Second black guy coming up.... official Mike Pence Noose (accept no substitute!) being discussed...

State House in TN Expels First of Three Lawmakers Over Insurrection A Day That Will Live In Infamy.

Used Bull Horns to halt the passage of a bill they opposed while goading on a mob.

    1. 'Rep. Justin Jones, D-Nashville, was expelled by a vote of 72 to 25 after 90 minutes of debate.
    2. Rep. Gloria Johnson, D-Knoxville, was not expelled after the resolution to oust her failed by one vote.
    3. As of 6 p.m., the resolution to expel Rep. Justin J. Pearson, D-Memphis, was still being deliberated.'

Not unheard of, 3 others have been expelled just since the Civil War.

“Just because you don’t get your way, you can’t come to the well, bring your friends and throw a temper tantrum with an adolescent bullhorn,” Farmer responded. “If you want to conduct business in this house, file a bill.”

Pearson seemed surprised and blamed the House for his ignorance. He 'said the body should do more to educate new members on rules of decorum.'

Oh. He doesn't think that it's not his job to inform himself on propriety.

The right doesn’t seem to grasp the gravity of this. The whole country is seeing this as it is: Republicans ignoring protocol, tradition, and even rule of law to force their racist way on society, and it is being viewed as growing fascism and authoritarianism. This could grow quickly into something the Republican wish they never started.

Then why haven’t the police authorities in charge asked/told them to leave? And why didn’t you see Jan 6 to be all that and much, much more?

    We know why.

Both parties do a lot of crap. When it is their own party they rationalize it, but when it is the other they make a big issue

If a party wants to be holier than thou - than knock off the stupid crap. Otherwise - I don't care about the consequences. I don't support it either

It is no wonder why almost every thread devolves into whataboutism

Lets hope.... Slight correction, anybody with 2 eyes and half a brain sees what happened tonight for what it is. Leaving out a sizable chunk of the country.

Unfortunately, it happened in a state that's regressing 4 years per every calendar year. We'll be in 2028, and they'll finally get back to the 1950's, when the Negro knew his place...

The Democrats are opposing the Republican push for fascism. There’s no equivalence other than what the right invents and fantasizes. And there wasn’t any “whataboutism” until you brought up Democrats. So it’s all on you.
