Hunter is not Joe and neither have any personal knowledge about Trump's behavior before or after he tried to bribe Ukraine into investigating his domestic political opponents.

I got 5:1 that says I can find a similar rant from you before the 2018 blue wave crushed the GOP.

I said, "His lawyers had to go join him overseas? None could stay behind to be at the Judiciary hearing?"

No witnesses so what is to defend?

To be fair, he did just get exposed for bragging about grabbing women by the *****, so he went into the Presidency with a super low approval rating and he did absolutely jack **** to improve it. But again, roughly 30% of Americans will always support impeaching the President. This guy got that number to 50% in his first term because he is a royal **** up.

You actively endorse the theory that Presidents should be kings and above the law when you embrace the Absolute Immunity theory being espoused by Trump.

And if you had a "glaring probable cause" of a crime by either Hunter or Joe Biden, then you would have at least one investigation from a domestic investigative agency. You don't because you never did have probable cause - just conspiracy theories. That's why Trump had to use leverage against Ukraine to pressure them into announcing an investigation against Biden.

That's one of the worst aspects of your defense. Trump does not, and never has, cared about an investigation into Biden. He only wanted a public announcement of an investigation so that he could use it for political campaign ads. That's it.

That paltry ripple where you lost Senate seats? Yeah, that was sort of funny. No, you won't find a similar post from then, mid-terms are slightly different, more localized and there were a lots of open seats, meaning with no name recognition in many races, the winner was as likely picked by their ballot position as they were any political position. If you really don't think the House is in play, you are fooling yourself, and will be crying even more. How will you folks keep moderate seats with an ultra-prog nominee? The linkage will be there, and nothing can undo that...

Seems like a discussion where I would want a representative attending....

Oh, I see. So because the 4 individuals who are going to testify about impeachment are not fact witnesses, Trump doesn't want his attorneys present, but he does want to bitch and moan about them holding that meeting while he is overseas.

Got it. So he is running away like a little bitch while making a hypocritical argument. Got it.

You know the one - the one where Democrats lost 2 Senate seats despite having 26 on the chopping block, picked up 40 house seats, flipped 7 governorships, flipped ~390 seats at all levels of government, and had the single largest popular vote margin of victory for a midterm in US history. That blue wave.

And yea, I know that the House is in play. I just think that defending an impeached President, combined with the fact that Republicans are retiring because they see the writing on the wall, combined with the fact that Democrats are more motivated that Republicans means that the chance that House switches back is significantly lower.

Law professors that have no facts about what happened are the definition of not being fact witnesses.

The blue ripple wasn't really that impressive, because a lot of what you 'won' was simply returning what was historically yours until that disaster Obama. There wasn't much chance many of those places would stay red, but they made changes to make a statement. If you want to talk about historic political waves, look at 2010, America's utter and complete rejection of Obama and crew.

Democrats aren't that motivated, how could they be? Their top clown is a three time loser, if America wanted Biden they'd have picked him in 2008. Instead America picked some no-name junior Senator from Illinois. After that you have Comrade Bernie, the commie-light clown with a bad heart. Next is Fauxahotas, really? Nothing but credibility issues for that one, class warfare isn't cool unless the economy sucks, add in her reparations support and pandering to trannies, and she has ZERO chance. That leaves the village mayor, and a slew of nobodies and late comers. Not really seeing the motivation, not seeing the contributions that would indicate motivation, not seeing any real positive press on the clown crew at all, instead you have the media focused on Trump, because you know you have nobody that can beat him. Its all really sad, in a utterly hilarious I'm about to watch you folks cry again sort of way...

Always possible... we'll see if Jerry is a team player... I suspect he will be, but that had to smart a little. I suspect it was sold to him by making it a National Security concern (with foreign concerns), which belongs more in the Intel than Judiciary...

I'm already thinking ahead to the House managers during the Senate trial.... I have to figure both men will be on it, but who will be the "lead"??

Gotta figure Schiff, unless Jerry impresses the management over the next couple of weeks...

    Wonder who else?

I'd like to see both Ted Deutsch and Jamie Raskin.. they seem pretty with it.... But there are several on both committees I wouldn't like to see much more of going forward...

Nadler has been one of those conspiracy theorists from day one even before Trump became President. He is a team player.

You still waiting for Congress to issue a subpoena to the witnesses?

....that's why I said they weren't fact witnesses. And yet Trump had the ability to add his own legal expert to the panel, but he chose to turn down due process.

I think the primary reason behind making the Intelligence Committee take the lead was the smaller size. The Intel committee only has 22 compared to the 41 for the judiciary.

Just alot easier to avoid a circus act during the fact finding portion.
