A smart Virginia lawmaker has decided that if women are forced to undergo an invasive ultrasound before getting an abortion, men should be forced to endure a rectal exam before getting their hands on their Viagra pills: http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/01/30/virginia-lawmaker-tries-to-attach-rectal-exam-provision-to-anti-abortion-bill/ What is even more amazing is that her proposal was narrowly rejected by 21-19. It should have passed, but Republican men would, of course, wish to have free choice when it comes to invasive medical procedures.
Ahahahaha....okay...reading that gave me a good long chuckle. Really, I think its only fair that it should have passed.
It's good to know that we have people this petty running our country. This is like something a 10 year old would come up with to "get back at the boys." Extremely childish and blatantly misandrist. When Viagra is killing children, then you can try to make a case for something like this. Until then, drop the spiteful crap and act like an adult.
I agree. And since when is a regular ultrasound "invasive"? They have handheld Ultrasound devices these days! Its not wrong for a doctor to want to at least give informed consent before someone kills 'something' (whether you wanna call it a baby or a fetus, you are still killing it. i mean come on thats not even an arguable point.) that is inside of them!
Get over it, the laws requiring ultrasounds for women are nothing but intentionally punitive and degrading, because it has been shown they do NOT cause women to change their minds. Legislators have been waging spiteful attacks on women with endless punitive laws. Your outrage is misplaced; you SHOULD be outraged that women will be subjected by law to this:
orrrr we could get rid of the 'right' of women to commit murder, then they wouldnt have to have an invasive procedure
No, I believe women should have to take responsibility for the sex that they had. So no, they should not murder a fetus, or a baby, or whatever you want to call it to ease your conscience.
That's what I said. Women had sex, so they should have to pay with pregnancy and childbirth, or government forced rape by instrumentation. There is no murder, or whatever you call it to attempt to control women.
So what would you call the extinguishing of the life inside of a pregnant woman? you think there is no death?
Over half of all fertilized eggs never implant and are flushed away every month. Were those people that died???
You people will just use anything as an argument. These things happen. FORCING them to happen is something else entirely. Don't be ridiculous please, besides a BARELY fertilized egg is not what most of these women are aborting.
A barely fertilized egg is what pro-lifers INSIST is a person with rights. I agree, it's a ridiculous argument by those who want to punish or control women. And actually, what you are implying is that a fertilized egg is only a person if a woman wants an abortion. At what point between the BARELY fertilized egg and the embryo that is aborted does it become murder?
When it is done per vagina We are talking very early ultrasound and THAT is not done by rubbing it over the tummy!
It is ALWAYS murder. what i was "implying" is that you cannot control when something like that happens naturally. Murder is an intentional aid in the death of something or someone. if a doctor goes in and ends the life of something that would continue living normally, then that is murder. how can you argue this? abortion is wrong. I know girls who have gotten several abortions cause they can't keep their (*)(*)(*)(*) pants on and don't want to take responsibility for their actions. what makes that ok?
That's ignorant? A miscarriage is usually not intentional, and sometimes completely uncontrollable. Abortion is INTENTIONAL and CONTROLLED. There is a HUGE difference.
Seriously. Does one not see the difference between an accidental death, and a doctor going in and ending a life?
It's not that they don't see it. It's that they choose to ignore it because it's inconvenient and ruins their argument. It's active denial.
Unifier, please stop lying about what I supposedly believe. People like Unifier are why the term "pro-lie" is so commonly used to describe the pro-life side.
Having seen an ultrasound (wife had one while I was present) and gotten a rectal exam, there is no comparison in terms of invasiveness. The only similarity between the two is that jelly is used for lubrication.
