The capitol police was overwhelmed. Based on the comments here it sounds like Trump knew what was going to happen, and did nothing to prevent it. The national guard could have formed a perimeter outside the Capitol and prevent the assault.

Like I said, initially I thought "enough is enough" about the investigations, but now it looks like they need to investigate some more. They can also investigate the speaker if you think she was somehow involved.

For the 3rd time, if he knew what was about to happen, why did he not order the NG to deploy, and why didn't he tell his loyalists to stand down?

Additional Guard troops were offered and refused. Everybody knew there was going to be a march and demonstration and none of those had been benign in a year or more. What happened was preventable and the results have been a political bonanza for..............whom?

Since many of the Insurrectionists came armed and with explosives, it would be good to see if there was any prior communication with any of Dirty Donnie’s organizations. It’s almost as if they knew he was going to order the mob to attack the Capitol.

 

They didn't know there was going to be a violent assault on the Capitol. Maybe Trump knew since he "offered" troops, but refused to deploy them. Did Trump and Pelosi share responsibility? I don't know I suppose the investigation will reveal the details.

 

There is some evidence to contradict your assertion here.

Emails show that the head of the Capitol Police requested military forces assistance for his cops. Emails show they knew it was going to happen. More, the FBI has admitted that it had informants and agents working the event.

More, the government will not release thousands of hours worth of video surveillance. If the government has nothing to hide, why is it hiding so much?

 

If a pro-Trump FBI agent knew about it and said nothing because they didn't want to stop it, you would be okay with that?

 

If they investigate the failure of several leaders to protect the capital, I am okay with that.

 

There are no precedents for a Speaker of one party to seize control of the minority party’s seats on a committee. Pelosi is acting like a dictator and setting up the House for the speaker to appoint the minority seats on commissions. Democrats keep shooting themselves in the foot.

do you have any clue what it would take to overthrow the fed and state governments here? Keep in mind that the fed only controls that which the states allow.

 

I find it hard to understand why they need a congressional committee to investigate an event that involved a disorderly mob. Couldn't this be investigated and handled by the normal law enforcement process?

You're assuming the FBI agent didn't say anything, and if the agent is under-cover, he might be working on more violent
threats and didn't want to blow cover. Too many unknowns for you to blaming individual FBI agents.

Now if Trump knew there was a threat - and MAGA people claimed he did and that's why he offered more National Guard - then
why in the **** did he not move the date of his rally - or at least not send the crowd toward the Capitol. Seems like the real dumb-ass
is Trump.

I thought he might show a spine, on January 13th, when he took the floor of the House and said: "The President bears responsibility for Wednesday's attack on Congress by mob rioters. He should have immediately denounced the mob when he saw what was unfolding. These facts require immediate action by President Trump."

But, then he was summoned to Mar-a-Lago and presumably scolded and threatened with being "primaried." Trump, as the 2016 Republican showed, is adept at playing one opponent against another.

Good to know you’re ok with armed civilians using violence to stop Congress from doing it’s sworn duty in carrying out the result of a national election per the Constitution after being directed to do so by the LOSER of said election.

McCarthy could have replaced the two rejected congressmen with other GOP congressmen. He and McConnell also acted to make sure that the bill creating a bi partisan committee passed in congress did not even come to a vote in the Senate. The Republicans shot themselves in the foot here. Jordan and Banks were dismissed by Pelosi for good reasons. Jordan was involved in assembling the rally on January 6 along with Trump and Guiiani. Banks recent public comments made it clear that he actually supported the insurrectionists.

 

Wrong, that’s how it works. Quit making excuses for dictator Pelosi.
