The above statement shows off my point perfectly. Thank you so much for writing such a clear example of it.

My age: know that under 25s don't have all the answers but just don't care that they don't.

I'm under 25, a full time college student. I don't have a job, but that's because I'm on full scholarship, so I don't see the need right now. I try to work as hard as I can on my studies, and I've been pretty successful. It's somewhat off putting to be dismissed simply because of my age, wich is something I've had to deal with in the real world as well. Sometimes it can be helpful to see an issue from the point of view of somebody drastically different than your own. I enjoy coming on here and reading the opinions of older people, I guess the old people don't appreciate mine... I don't claim to know (*)(*)(*)(*) about taxes

I have access to information that my parents don't arrive. ANd about the example of the life in 1976, there is information that I don't have access, like they don't have access to other things. For example what my parents were doing in 1976, but yes that I have access to how was the life in my homeland in 1976, and although there were problems for example the equality was greater, and the cost of many things was lower.

It's not so much that they have all the answers. It's that everything is pretty much dumb down for them.

Here is one of my favorite quotes from Ben Franklin:

"At 20 years of age the will reigns, at 30 the wit, at 40 the judgment."

I think of my younger brother, mid 20s single father, under employed and barely getting by. I think of my father, mid 50s and earning more a month then my brother brings home in a year. Of the two of them, my dad complains more.

I understand my dad's complaints, his frustration. What my dad doesn't understand is that without the taxes he pays my brother stands no chance of some day having the life his father has now.

First of all, I am not your dear. Second the young at heart and the young needed a change from GHWB, and got it, the country boomed under Clinton. So yes there are times when the young hit a home run. This time it failed. Obama is a horrible President, and I will admit it. You do have to understand someone who is respectful of all adults regardless of age, is still someone with thought. Unlike those who simply dismiss those younger saying they have no idea or say. That is the point of this thread. I really feel for your kids if you have any. Respect goes both ways, and so far you really haven't shown any.

It's wrong to disrespect the youth and invalidate our opinions and intellect. Look at all the problems today in the world, and especially in this country. It's the fault of the 50 year old+ generation. The debt, the wars, President Bush twice, retarded, ineffective drug laws, idiotic congressmen, etc. That certainly isn't the fault of 18-30 year olds.

It's the youth that votes these idiots in. So yeah, it is pretty much the youth's fault.

The voting age should obviously be increased to 25 +

Why? Because they disagree with you? That's no reason to deny people their right to vote. Who died and made you king?

No, because they know so little about life. That is the argument she is making and it is a reason to deny people their right to vote. Or do you think people younger than the current voting age should be allowed to vote? If not, who died and made you king?

If people can fight or die for their country they should be able to vote. The law right now is that you get to vote at 18, the burden is on people opposing this to prove that it should be otherwise.. Who determines what needs to be known in order to vote?

Heck, let them vote at 18....there are a lot of older people that are less informed that vote.

    47 years old.

I don't judge people by age, but by their posts. I think there are some old idiots here who add nothing to the forum and some young people who write thoughtful posts.

    Actually I appointed myself Queen.

And I don't care what the little dummies do. Someone said that the old dummies are messing up the country. I simply pointed out that it's because of the young dummies vote them in.

I really doubt the majority of the young people voted in George Bush or a lot of these current congressmen. They also aren't for useless, tyrannical anti drug laws, and don't feel the need to discriminate or take rights away from Gay people. And they certainly aren't responsible for the wars and such. I hope you are kidding.

And of course the 25 year old lady thinks the minimum voting age should be 25.

    :)

It's because of all the dummies, old and young... Also, our country isn't nearly as messed up as many others, past and present. We're doing pretty alright.
